Kelly would have to be an idiot not to make this a rebuilding year. He needs time to set things up. Done right, he could have a 4-5 year run of success like Reid did. NO ONE expects otherwise.

Greg Jennings? Another WR with great hands who knows how to fight double teams. Solid redzone option

Strange that Andy Reid just traded for Alex Smith instead of drafting Geno Smith. Just another piece of evidence that it must have been Lurie that hated white QBs.

They are talking about SEVERAL years of rebuilding, why in the world does Lurie want to keep Vick. So you can win 5 games instead of 3. Makes no sense. Vick will be in a rocking chair by the time the other pieces are in place. Guess the dope Lurie thinks the fans would be happier winning a couple more meaningless games this season with Vick. Better think again Lurie.

Lurie likes to cash your checks as he torments your and benchs another white quarterback.

Lets go Ravens. They don't start Mike Vick at QB. They don't have an idiot for an owner.

Rebuilding? Yeah, but they are using the samwe bricks and the same castoffs from other failed teams and they will look like the same inept pretenders while the same elite teams with the same elite quarterbacks make their fans have another great year.

Whoever said they have been rebuilding forever has been watching some other team. The problem is that they have delayed rebuilding far too long, with bad free agent signings and keeping underperforming vets. It's time to play the young guys and find out what you have, draft well and see what happens. When you build a young nucleus and get close, that's when you make the free agent signings.

@Your Mom-Lurie would never ever have Johnny Football as his franchise QB and the face of his team. Its pretty obvious that Lurie is about as prejudiced as one can get regarding QBs. He has never seen a black QB that he did not like better than a Tom Brady or Manning.

Actually, I wish Juan was coming back, just not as DC. Harbaugh snapped him up and Jaun has a ring. Good for you Juan.

deal foles, run with loser vick, and dixon, who has two rings but has only played in a few games. sounds like a recipe for 2 and 14 and a shot at "johnny football" in next year's draft

The 22-year-old nephew of Giants owner John Mara turned himself into police on Friday on charges that he allegedly hit a man over the head with a bottle at a New Year's Eve party, according to release sent by the Fairfield Police Department.

The suspect, whose name is also John Mara of Hammond Ridge Road in Mount Kisco, NY, is charged with first-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. He posted a $150,000 bond and is due to appear in court on March 8.

What John Boehner said to Harry Reid might be relevant here.

Who cares if they retain Vick, is it your money? He went from a 4-5 year kill the franchise deal to a friendly one year deal, and now we have multiple QB's to choose from. The probable 4-3 under defense needs many pieces , it's a rebuilding year. Vick being there isn't going to hurt our chances of getting any closer to the goal of a Super Bowl...

We all cry the blues, but the Eagles are bulit for profit, not championships. Mr Lurie is a business man, and he keeps this team for business purposes only. Its a toy and a write off. Like a I said before, hot dogs and beer, cause thats all you are going to get from philly that tastes like a winner

Lurie, where are the "multiple super bowls"? Until you produce them, knock off the annual "State of the Team" pontifications. Nobody wants to listen to your blather anymore.

We're stuck with the Mold Standard.

Totally agree on Vick. Retaining him makes no sense under the circumstances.

Suckerville. Is that near Williamstown and Erial?

Anyway, teams can turn it around quickly (See Indy) but usually that coincides with a young, franchise QB. Why they would tinker with Vick is beyond me.

HAHAHA Rebuilding Year Right. They"ve been doing that since 1961. So far no results after 50 years. This is getting old. Should have done the RAMS/Colts trick a long time ago and MAYBE start all over.No hope in suckerville

Wtf are you talking about? They went to playoffs in 9 of 14 years with Andy and 5 NFC title games. Any Eagle Phan is disappointed we didn't win a damn SB, but I hardly think its been "rebuilding" since 61'. Stop being so damn negative. You get Jabroni status....

Agreed. Why do they use their worst writer as an "expert" for vids? He said "all they need to do", that phrase works in NO conversation about the Iggs, they have a lot to do. In McLame's opinion, they should sign NO free agents, because good teams build through draft. Exclusively? NO, you must be selective and make good judgements in free agency but you can't ignore it. It will probably take a year to build a starting point. The team could not perform last year, now the front office MUST. If they're VERY GOOD and a little lucky it can be done in a year or two, but we'll see about that.

Why rebuild with the same awful old washed-up Vick as the leader?

Rebuild with young, promising kids that can grow with this team for years....NOT the old shot loser Vick...duh.

They've been rebuilding since 2006. Horrible drafts and bad FA signings year after year tend to make rebuilding a perennial event. Good thing Lurie finally brought in an adult this year in Tom Gamble to hopefully start getting it right.
    Only in Philly...

Lurie brings in Chip Kelly to play more of the same old soft football that Reid professes. Lurie loves the stupid excitement offense that gives a cheap thrill in some 40-14 regular season games. When the 50-40 losses start mounting, don't blame Kelly, blame Lurie the real problem here.

I have no problem with it being a rebuilding year. This is how you discover good young talent in the middle rounds. But, you need to find a way to pick up more draft picks. Some bigger names would need to be traded, like Trent Cole and Nick Foles.

Get young, get big, and get fast on defense. This is a super draft year for D Line, which is why they're letting all the old heads go.

How could it be anything but a rebuilding year? Bad draft after bad draft and poor free agent selections dictate that it is. Good thing Howie didn't have anything to do with player selection since he's been GM.

Rebuilding? With Boy-Blunder in charge? The only thing the Eagles are doing is re-arranging the deck chairs to bamboozle the minions that keep feeding Jeffey's bank account.

Howie, go back to the chess club!
