Vick named NFC player of the week

POSTED: Tuesday, November 9, 2010, 5:38 PM

Michael Vick will be named NFC offensive player of the week for his performance against the Colts when the awards are given out on Wednesday, the Eagles announced.

Vick previously won NFC offensive player of the month honors in September.

The quarterback, in his return from an injury-induced monthlong layoff, completed 17 of 29 passes for 218 yards and a touchdown as the Eagles bested Indianapolis, 26-24, on Sunday. He has yet to thrown an interception this season. Vick also ran 10 times for 74 yards and scored a touchdown.

The 5-3 Eagles face the 4-4 Redskins on Monday night next.

this is great and all, but Aaron Rodgers threw for nearly 300 yards, 3 TDs, 0 ints and 41 on the ground, in a 38 point blow out that got a coach fired, isn't that more impressive than Vick's numbers?

Looking at the stats for Kolb, Vick, and McNabb, Andy is looking pretty smart for the much maligned trade. You don't hear too many people saying Andy got taken to the cleaners and should have never traded our franchise quarterback to a team in our division anymore...

Great job Mike Vick. I thought they were going to give the honor to the "Legend" aka "Bet Far".

chunk - Rodgers, while posting good stats, did it against a crappy 1-6 team. Vick did it with a civ of an o-line, too.

Stats are nothing JohnFC if we don't beat that sorry Washington team next week... Maybe since we have finally wisened up on Hobbs we won't spot them 14 pts....

"ChunkyLover53" They were playing Dallas who has given up more points than any other team except Buffalo who is 0-8. Vick did it against Indy and after he was out for a month. He had a passer rating of what....105. Not taking anything away from Rodgers, but I think that's a little bit more impressive that beating up on the Cowgirls don't you?

Well, ChunkyLover, the most obvious answer is that Vick and the Eagles beat a playoff contender and Rodgers beat up on the 1-6 (now 1-7) Cowboys.

"Player of the week" isn't always "best stats of the week"...

Because Reid was unable to trade Vick during the off-season, does that make him look good? And we all know that Klob is not a franchise QB.

    Let's not re-write history folks.

I love watching this guy play. That throw from the end zone to DeSean looked a little like "Kenny Stabler to Cliff Branch."

Vick is FUN to watch. And with D. Jack, Maclin, Celik, Avant and McCoy...Well, that makes for some very interesting Sundays.

Its funny that I don't hear the comments:

    "Vick is a RB"
    "Vick can't pass"
"Vick can't run the WC offense"
    "Vick isn't accurate"
"I Gurantee you that Vick will be traded"
"Jeff Garcia is better than Vick"
"Release Vick and sign Jeff Garcia"

    LMAO

To all you haters that are now on the bandwagon...to those who said they would boycott the games, those who said Vick could never win...

    STFU

I don't shi* from you people now.

I told you Vick would shine again.

Put that in your pipes and smoke it. The "columnists" too, especially McLane, Domo, and Hoffman. Shiel gets a pass
