Vick: expects to miss one to two weeks

Eagles quarterback Michael Vick expects to miss one to two weeks with painful cartilage damage to his ribs, but he can't be sure of the time frame.
"Maybe a week, maybe two weeks. Usually I’m a fast healer, so we’ll have to see," Vick said tonight in a radio interview on WXTG Radio 102.1's The Game and The Bruce Smith Show, out of Virginia Beach. Vick added, "it won't be no more than two weeks, hopefully. Hopefully."
What's clear is that Vick will miss this week's game at San Francisco at least, and likely an Oct. 17 home game against Atlanta. The "hopefully" indicates that Vick's timetable might be on the aggressive side for an injury widely described as extremely painful and limiting. He could hardly move after Sunday's game.
ESPN analyst Merril Hoge said cartilage damage is more painful than a broken rib.
"Just the ability to move your body is troublesome," Hoge said on ESPN's NFL Live. He said it would take Vick a minimum of two weeks before he can "even think about" coming back and playing.
We might beat the 49ers without Vick. Atlanta at home looks like a loss, guess Kolb will get hurt vs Atlanta, since the starting quarterback has been knocked out of the game in the first half of the previous two home games. Or Kolb could learn to look down the field and hit the open receivers. As long as he doesn't stretch the field, we won't win. allphillyallthetime
I think in all Honesty, the leader of your team is whoever the guys on that team revolve around. We shall see if BABYARM is that guy. BooDuhBud- The next two games are very winnable. Even though Kolb is the back-up once Vick gets back, he has GOT to show something these next two games...and I think he will.
I cannot stand the dink-n-dunk on O, and the let's-get-run-over on D. That's not football. First off, the West Coast offense has been figured out for years. Let's try the no-wideout, T-formation, two tight-end set for each and every play, no motion. That way, the quarterback doesn't matter. And, there is no way to read it as a defense if the offense comes out in the same formation each time. And run it with a bunch of mules... guys so big, they make Andy look like DeSean Jackson. At least it would be interesting for a year or two. I can see the stats now as the opposing defense wears down... 10 yards 1st qtr, 20 yards 2nd qtr, 100 yards 3rd qtr, 440 yards 4th qtr. And let's switch to the 3-4 on defense, with a nose guard so big that he needs a double cheeseburger (with bacon) between each play. One where a d-back is cut from the team immediately if the receiver he's supposed to jam makes it past 5 yards. Let's reintroduce in-your-face, we're-going-to-run-the-play-you-know-and-you-won't-be-able-to-stop-it kind of tough for a change. And call it the East Coast offense. I'm tired of finesse-ball... it's miserable to watch any more. landt
4 posts so far and not 1 dog reference? you guys are slacking chuckfusina
Obi Wan KenoVick - you are our only hope sbdons1982
Reality Speaks - The Atlanta game is very winnable? They are a top 10 team in the league. We are not. They have a brusing running game and play mistake free football. We can't stop the run and play mistake-prone football. They beat the Saints on the road. We lost to the Redskins at home. I wouldn't exactly call that "a very winnable game." Woof. Dean1- Can't wait to see the rest of the NFL target the dog skull smasher's ribs. Nobody will try to cause him pain, will they? COskier
- I just learned that Avant was not supposed to catch the Hail Mary pass. His job was to deflect it toward Celek.
we will see the real Kevin Kolb with out conVick coming in and out of the game,a full week of practice with the young guns,,Kevin will have a big game and a win over the 0&49ers on the Road, some experts predicted the niners to win the division (panpizza),,Kevin was a dropped touchdown pass by Avant from beating the Deadskins,he totally outplayed MCFraud 63 pct passing to 42 pct..16 poits higher QB rating..not bad for playing from a 0-14 hole...i just wanted to put my two cents in before panpizza clogs up the blogways with his nursery ryhmes..next week all the haters will be on the Kevin Kolb bandwagon-book it...KK showed alot of good signs last week on film, the last play was a rope to Avant hit him in the hands...BIRDS 27
NINERS 17.....wolf. wolf 4
Patrick Willis is about to have a real big game...grab the 49ers defense while you can for fantasy football folks. mlr710- Kolb is the only QB for whom excuses are offered such as the wind blew his pass off target. What's next the sun was in his eyes; it was too cold; the dog ate his playbook?
Uh, wiff, didn't Kolb have the entire preseason with the first team? Are you back to that practice excuse again? And if KK was taking the snaps with the first team how did Vick come in and play so well when Kolb's noodle got scrambled? Yeah, we were a Hail Mary away from a win...that says it all. That's exactly what playing KK is, a Hail Mary. And KK had better stats? I thought it was about the WINS wiff, not about the stats? YOUR WORDS. Now which QB got the win again? Wow, a high completion percentage throwing 5 yard passes? Whodathunkit? That's like saying Shaq is a great shooter because he has a high completion percentage when all he does is dunk. What was Vick's QB rating trying to dig the Eagles out of that GB hole that coalminer Kolb dug? Oh and I'm sure you have that post where I predicted the niners to win anything? Please prove that statement because right now I'm calling you a liar...AGAIN! A rope? Hahahahahahahahahahahaha, I'm surprised he could hit the end zone. Rope. hahahahahahahahahaha, idiot. And I wouldn't be bringing up the term "bandwagon" maestro. Let's see, first you were glad to have Vick on the team, then you wanted him gone because he was a threat to KK, then he was OK because he was a threat to McNabb, then after McNabb was traded you demanded Vick be traded too, then when he outplay KK he went from conVick to Mike and then just as I predicted when that inevitable bump in the road came he's conVick again and you've got those worn out KK pom poms out again. I think that sums it up wiff. Yeah, good on film, just like a slug...and just as fast. 2 cents? That's about all those comments are worth. And I'm already working on another nursery rhyme. Stay tuned. Well, I think I've destroyed you enough before I've had my coffee, off to the drive thru. Oh, 27-17? What was that Redskin prediction of yours again...? Mooooooron! tpizza
panpizza-you talk alot and say nothin, stick to your poems the nitwits like them it's about all they can handle..LOL...a dropped pass from 3-1.....wolf. wolf 4
panpizza..you continue to own my uncle each day..game..set.. match..its no contest..please keep posting as he does not have the IQ to retort in any effective way..2012-KOLB and wolf, Walmart security. wolf 4
