Notes off practice:

-- Michael Vick participated in individual drills and some team drills in his return to the NFL. Vick mostly split third-team repetitions with Adam DiMichele. His first toss during installs was a little wobbler over the middle to Danny Amendola. He looked better during one-on-ones, hitting Jeremy Maclin deep with a few bombs.

-- Sheldon Brown left practice after he collided with receiver Kevin Curtis in the end zone. The team said the cornerback has bruised ribs.

-- Westbrook ran during intalls, but not during team drills. The running back looked very sharp.

-- Tight end Matt Schobel (sore left calf) is back practicing after missing most of camp.

Back with more.

I could hear the newspapers' cash registers going "che-ching!" over and over and over again. They're going to ride this Michael Vick stuff all the way to the bank, all the while laughing at the readers as they continue to rile everyone up.

jimqk- The media didn't electrocute, hang and beat to death the dogs, your hero Mike did. How are they making money on this, and so what if they are. They are a NEWS organization. This is news. It doesn't change the facts. Facts are stubborn things. Now matter how sorry Vick is, what he did was not a 'mistake'. He bought that house specifically to run his dog fights, stocked it with dog fighting equipment, and brutally tortured and killed defenseless animals for YEARS before he got caught. Still, I am a little torn over this. Maybe Vick can win me over with his actions. I have made mistakes in my life. But still, my gut reaction is to be sickened by the Vick signing. All these years the Eagles have preached that football is a business. They let Dawkins sign with Denver. Now this? Are they now in the business of saving lost souls or winning a championship? This is going to be a HUGE, unnecessary distraction.

wow, no one here as ever made a mistake. Those who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones. I am no vick fan, he committed a horrible crime and paid the price for it both professionally and financially, he is going to get a second chance and he deserves one. Use this incident to teach your kids about personal responsibility and the consequences of making bad choices, instead of playing mr. perfect.

Wow it amaze me that ppl Vick paid his time, cant you all see it's not personal it's business the Eagles are trying to win, I agree he was wrong for what he did but Americans can go deer hunting, behead them hang them on their walls as trophy's then eat the remains which YOU call Venice as for stew! Yes cows, chickens, and pigs are the norm but aren't that how we live those same animals are tortured and killed and the same ppl ( animal activist ) eat meat! So again I'm against the crime he did but from a football issue it's business besides the Eagles our embarrass that the Phillies won and the Eagles had a dominating roster for the longest! Vick I'm pulling for you as a football fan but off field get your life straight! Go Birds this team is gonna be scary for teams!

WELCOME: The "dog days" of summer are here. I hear that eskin is mad because while ESPN was breaking the Vick story, howard was standing on the Eagles sideline directly BEHIND coach Reid. Sorry howard.
