Vick points finger at media

Could Eagles quarterback Michael Vick be feeling the heat from the media?
Speaking after practice on Saturday, Vick pointed a finger toward the media for making things difficult for the 3-4 Eagles.
Vick didn’t come out and say it was the media’s fault he has committed 13 turnovers, eight interceptions and five fumbles. Yet he gave an honest assessment what he thinks is the negative impact the media has had on the team.
“You guys create a lot of turmoil for us sometimes,” Vick said. “It’s cool man. We have to battle through it.”
It must be noted that Vick wasn’t saying this in a mean tone, just calmly stating his opinion.
“The quieter you all can be, the easier for us that we can concentrate and focus as individuals, as a unit as a team and organization,” he said.
So at least give Vick some points for his honesty. Many athletes suggest that what the media says means nothing.
“We are trying to block out everything,” Vick said. “We understand that is the nature of this business. We are trying to keep everything as low key and mellow as possible with all due respect.”
Low key in Philadelphia and concerning the Eagles?
That might be a more difficult task than remaining turnover-free against the Saints.
Vick is a media creation. After he pays back all of his current debts, he should split whatever is remaining with the media that created the image of him as anything more than an average QB. jtj06
@retzlaff and Mount Olympus: Your posts are among the more intelligent ones. A welcome change from the endless ranting which I assume makes certain posters here feel better but doesn't really add anything substantive to the conversation. Of course the media stokes the controversy fire. But they (the media) aren't really helping the Eagles by doing so and they certainly aren't focusing on sports journalism. (For example: Did you know Mike Vick now has a dog? Can't imagine how I lived without knowing that little gem) Of course pointing all of this out doesn't let Vick or the O-Line or Todd B or Andy or Marty or Howard (etc.) off the hook. They are not performing well and this fan base can be pretty brutal when performance does not meet fan expectations. And in Philadelphia, expectations can be very HIGH! sighpatrol
It's not the media that calls a pass play on virtually every down with a overmatched offensive line. The coach does Vick no favors.
Any QB hit 10 or 12 times a game would be ineffective let alone out for the year already - that includes Brees, Rogers and Manning.
If Eli got hit 10 times a game, he'd be in the hospital. The Giants wouldn't allow it, they're smart enough to mix up the play calling so defenses can't tee off on the QB. Not Reid, he knows better. Would like to see Reid get hit 10 times a game, maybe that would knock some sense into him. Vick has not played well but he could easily have 2 broken legs and 3 broken ribs. IF that were the case, Reid would call a pass play. Fan74
Vick is a loser who has never won anything....losers always blame somebody else for their failures....Vick is an awful 11-15 with Eagles over the past three years, Vick leads the entire NFL in fumbles and iterceptions, and Vick has LOST THREE GAMES IN A ROW...instead of pointing fingers at the media, Vick should look at the loser in the mirror. Reading the worthless mind numbing dribble that comes from the wasted paychecks Philly has for its so called media, why would he blame you. Look Vick is right, most of the garbage that comes from the Philly sports "media" is aimed to insight bitterness and misguided anger from couch potato fanatics. That in turn causes boozed up idiots to scream vile hateful things at players about their families on Sundays. realtruth
Not only is this team the worst collection of dogs ever assembled by the Eagles, but they are more concerned with whining about the fans and the media than manning up and attempting to play adequate football. THIS MEANS YOU, BABIN, POSTER CHILD FOR THE 2012 BEAGLES! jman
The Eagles fight thru this rut with a big game on the ground by Shady rushing for over 100 yds on 20 carries. Vick also airs it out to D-Jax for 2 Td's as the Birds trounce the Saints 34-17!............. Then I wake up a couple of hours before game time. Have some French Toast and watch these losers give up 30 points to Drew and company while Vicki turns the ball over 4 times, losing 34-17. Boom. southpaw26
The biggest way for Vick to shut the media up is to WIN. Don't cough the ball up, avoid interceptions and make some touchdowns and the media will be his pal again. Don't blame the media for pointing out his poor play. Results speak louder than words. bling

Perhaps if Vai Sikahema,Ike Reese and many of the other former Eagles who are now "media", this team might have a heart and a pair. I KNOW special teams play would improve. realitybedamned
The Eagles have a slimmer, quicker offensive line suited for the run but they are pass happy. Why? could someone please tell me? Realtor in Orlando
