Vick: Eagles didn't quit

Mike Vick took the high road when asked about comments from 49ers running back Frank Gore, who insinuated that the Eagles quit on the game last week.
"I think we put up the effort for all four quarters. He can say that and we can’t dwell on last week," Vick said.
Gore had said "the Eagles, they didn't want to play no more ... We just kept pounding and kept pounding and kept making plays and we kind of knocked the fight out of them."
All Vick was talking about was Sunday and getting a win. He deflected questions about pressure or urgency, focusing instead on a "one-play-at-a-time" mentality and fixing the Eagles' red zone problems.
"Any game in this league is going to be difficult, especially on the road. I think the thing we have to do is go in there focused primarily and take care of your responsibilities, kind of go with the flow and just count each possession as important and just take it one play at a time," Vick said.
Moise Fokou also refused to get into discussions about Gore and whether the team quit (the barb would seem to be aimed mostly at the defense, which the 49ers ran on in the fourth quarter).
"I’m not going to respond to that right now," he said. Fokou acknowledged the urgency of getting a win this week. "With our backs against the wall and we knowing what kind of team we can be, all that matters right now is for us to get a win."
The Eagles should have Darryl Tapp available to help. He is listed as probable on the injury report and after participating in practice looks likely to start opposite Jason Babin.
Juqua Parker was also a full participant. He is listed as "questionable" after sounding pessimistic about his chances to play earlier in the week. "I feel better than yesterday. A lot better," Parker said.
Defensive tackle Derek Landri is fit enough to play this week if he is needed, said coach Andy Reid, but he said he has not decided if he will dress the tackle.
Frank Gore a U player need we say more. he really made himself look stupid, by his comments. But what do you expect, what he going to say in Bucs game Sunday, he is as bad as Justin "crybaby Tuck talking about Herreman, STHU and play your next game. Blessed8251

Comment removed.- WOW! It's bad enough we're on a three game losing streak, but now, thanks to Gore, we are known across the league as quitters. Unbelievable!
There's 12 more games to be played, I will listent to what Gore has to say then. charmaine
They didn't quit, they just have a few gaping holes in their defense and offense - linebackers, safties, and offensive line. This team does not have the talent or character to win championships and that is mostly the coach's fault. Fire Andy Reid and hire Bill Cowher. MUADDIB
After listening to Gore do an interview after the game, I'm surprised he could string enough coherent words together to provide a bulletin board worthy sentence. Phillies1120
A Super Bowl winning coach once said you are what your record says. There is still time to change from being an underachieving team to a Super Bowl winning team. Andy and the coaches and Vick and the players need to be finish wit the off season hype because it's been over for 5 weeks now. Man Up And PLAY SOME WINNING FOOTBALL. NOW. VegasEagleFan
They didn't quit, they just never showed up. There's a difference (I think) Luriesucks
If we did not quit on defense then it was a poor impersonation of playing defense. Over the years, our D, something the Eagles have been know for for years has turned soft. That's what happens when the head man thinks the league has become a passing league and the Ealges will be the best at passing or will die trying. Too soft to run, short yardage , goal line proof. Fewer and fewer tacklers or play makers on D. Turnovers and penalties tolerated, since both go up0 every year. We are out of gas, out coached weekly. Period. oldBird
Its ok. The Eagles are better than the 49ers ... just ask them. In fact they are better than every team that beats them per all of the post game interviews. All in Dream Team! Scope33
Put up or shut up time Sunday. AR said he has to do better. What will he say if they lose again? GreenWing
maybe the offense didnt quit but the defense sure as hell did. great job you've been doing juan. psualum
With 12 games to go, most fans quit on the team already. This fan will be there till the 16th is played and won. And forget the "Dream Team" back to reality. Eagles will win next 6. Showtime226
