Michael Vick suffered a concussion in the second quarter of the Eagles-Cowboys game and will not return.
Backup Nick Foles filled in for Vick. The rookie took the field to a loud ovation from the Lincoln Financial Field crowd with the Eagles and Dallas tied, 7-7. The Eagles went three and out on his first series.
Vick went into the locker room with an eye injury. It was unclear on which play Vick was injured but he was hit by Cowboys linebacker Ernie Sims on his last play. He was also being evaluated for a cocussion. Vick suffered a concussion last year against the Falcons, but played the following week.
Vick had not missed a snap all season up until his injury.

@atb124, We wiffed on a NFL ready QB (Russell Wilson) and ended up with Nick Foles, lets stop trying to hype this up to more than what it is, another Kolb pick. #5 carried Reid for alot of years but he proved too heavy for Vicks shoulders time to give him the boot NOW why prolong the inevitable. There has got to be some good prospects for coaching at the College level. Time to start over fresh. Just feel sorry Vick couldn't get a chance a that ring, for this dude has been through and the way he's turned his life around he deserves it. Andy's arrogance and inflated ego caused his and the downful of the Eagles.— Drumgoole - Foles looked decent tonight however he wasn't perfect. He made a number of good plays but executed some stupidly as well. He is a rookie so chalk it up to lack of experience and he will undoubtedly get better. But to those who think replacing Vick with Foles will solve the Eagles problems for this season, dream on. The O-line at times looked better tonight but they still are suspect. Starting off with the common ground, #5 AND Jim Johnson carried Reid for a lot of years, and #7 isn't in #5's ballpark to pull off the same trick. Reid must go. FWIW, I was one of the last Reid defenders. No more.
But I have no idea what you've seen that has you writing off Foles. Is it a coincidence that all of the quarterbacks you are praising are black (I'm a Wilson believer btw) and that Kolb and Foles are white? I don't really care.
I haven't seen anyone hyping Foles. What I've seen and what I've done is beg to see him play so we can find out. There's certainly a risk that this coaching staff and O-Line could f-up his career like what happened to David Carr. But such is life. black, Kolb who they tried to replace him with was a 5 year bust. I have always been high on Wilson and felt that he should have been one of this teams higher picks, he deffinitely would have unseated Vick for his job so black has nothing to do with it. Plus saw Foles play in college wasnt that impressed especially compared to Wilson, who played in to different style offenses in one year, leading his second team to a Bowl game and almost winning it. Who in their right mind wouldn't want at QB like that leading their team, kudos to Seattle for pulling the trigger a getting him. So what it comes down to is, yes the two QBs I mentioned are better and they happened to be black, it wouldn't be any different if they were white, the facts are they're better. - Regarding Foles and his picks and near picks. This is what you get from even a VETERAN QB that is rusty. This is what you get from a well prepared rookie QB in his 3rd or 4th game with an average O-Line not a sub NFL O-line like the Eagles. Compare Foles to Brandon Weeden in his first start this year against the Eagles. Compare him to a rusty Peyton Manning throwing 3-4 picks in his first start this year. Compare him to a rusty Vick in his first start as a rookie or even his first start this year against the Browns. All in all Foles did just fine.— Taser
