Umenyiora fires at Shady (again)

POSTED: Sunday, May 13, 2012, 10:27 AM
"Happy Mothers Day Lesean Mccoy! Enjoy your special day!!" Osi Umenyiora tweeted Sunday. (Gregory Payan/AP)

Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora only joined Twitter on May 3, but he seems to have pretty quickly grasped one of its primary uses: taking long-distance pot shots at rivals and inciting a media furor.

This morning Umenyiora posted this on the social network: "Happy Mothers Day Lesean Mccoy! Enjoy your special day!!"

When a follower wrote to Umenyiora after the post, he responded, "hahaha u know the beef is never over. Never."

Oh boy.

Last year McCoy wrote on Twitter that Umenyiora was "overrated n soft." The Giant then told the Newark Star-Ledger that "he’s a girl, man. Who does stuff like that?"

He added, "If he has more of these things to say, he can say ‘em to my face. Don’t be no Twitter gangster man."

Apparently that rule no longer applies. And it's only May -- the Giants and Eagles play in Philly Sept. 30.

The only thing osi has on McCoy is that his team won the super bowl. Last I checked however his own team benched him. McCoy is a top five RB in the NFL osi is already a has been.

Childish Osi. Goes a looong way in showing Osi and the team he represents true character. You now know we hurt them with that comeback victory and are totally inside their heads. Superbowl champs acting like scared rabbits!

Here's the thing with the Ggirls; even though they got into the playoffs last season they went through the Jets and a hapless Cowgirls team to do it. As you will see this season, if they had to play Philly in the playoffs the Eagles would have dusted them and you would have no SB. The Eagles gave the season away, 8-8 but 5-1 in Div., one more win would have had you coming to Philly where Ggirls would have been sent home (as usual) with their tails between their legs. The Ggirls and fans were glad they didn't have to come our way. So Ggirls and fans enjoy last season’s victories because you won’t see them this year.

You're absolutely right. In addition to what you said, had GB played the way they had been playing all year the Ggirls would have had a problem. I don't know what happened to GB in that game, but it sure wasn't the same GB we had seen all season. The Ggirls got lucky, however my guess is they won't see that luck again this season, along with a few other teams.

@BuddyBall92, How about we just cut you loose so you can find another team to root for you wouldn't be worth a trade.

Wow, was there a need to fill space on this story? Why is this even printed? Was there not going to be a rivalry if this had not been printed, or does this finally set off a Eagles-Giants rivalry?

This is hilarious. Partly because when Shady is signing his long-term deal, Osi will still be trying to get a new deal. He almost got cut last year, I wouldn't be worrying about Shady, I'd be worried about my money, if I were Osi. T

I'm sure that N.Y. will want to bring back Osi to retire as a Giant someday. They'll probably ofer him 50 cents for the one day contract. He's not worth a whole dollar.

It is amazing how the Midgets fan are taking up for this guy when he has blasted the organization over and over and said he wants a trade. We don't need the cry-baby, no matter who he plays for we just run right buy him with no problem. I guess he has no mother to wish a happy mother's day so he thought of Shady. Just because you have 2 rings does not mean you have class or character. Especially on a day when people who do not have their mothers living are mourning. Sad and sick but that is what the Midgets are classless champs.

I thought Osi retired...because I haven't heard his name called during a Giants game in years.
