ANOTHER MILESTONE FOR DAWKINS
Bob Brookover
Safety Brian Dawkins has reached the milestone stage of his career.
In last week's win over the Arizona Cardinals, the Eagles' Pro Bowl safety tied cornerbacks Eric Allen and Bill Bradley for the franchise record for career interceptions with his 34th. Sunday against the New York Giants, he will tie the franchise record for games played.
This will be Dawkins' 180th game with the Eagles, tying him with receiver Harold Carmichael.
"Those things, they do mean a lot to me," Dawkins said. "It's hard to celebrate, because you're still in the midst of a tough season and the midst of your career, so it's really hard to celebrate. But, yeah, those things are huge to me. Many, many, many individuals have come through this organization ... so to know that I will be the one standing to have played the most games for this organization is a huge accomplishment."
You can read more about Dawkins in tomorrow's Inquirer.
If the whole team was built with guys of Dawk's character, class, and ability, we would win the Super Bowl every year! extremebeat

Brian Dawkins, thanks for all the great plays through the years. Once in a lifetime player. p-diddy
That hit Dawkins put on Michael Vick in the 2003 playoffs warmed my heart. p-diddy
and as long as he wants to play the eagles should give him a contract. even if they limit his snaps. the thought of him in another jersey makes me sick. plus if he is used right he still has plenty left timm2- No one will ever come close to Weapon X. Absolutely my favorite player of all time, offense and defense. Dawk is a great inspiration, role model and human being. Love ya Dawk!
Brian, we will miss you when you decide when it's right for you to go. You are the epitome of what it means to be an Eagle. You are a class act, and I would have been proud to have known you personally. You still have a lot more football in you. When YOU decide you are ready to hang up the jock strap, God speed, brother. eagles7777
The image of him thanking Jesus when he picked off Favre in that memorable playoff game sums up Dawkins' legacy. PhillyHouse JayDuce
