Asked to compare the 2008 Dallas Cowboys to the 2004 Philadelphia Eagles, Terrell Owens bascially said there was no comparison.

The former Eagles receiver said during a conference call with Philadelpia reporters today that this Cowboys team is "way more talented."

Owens may be right. This Cowboys team is bursting with talent, including the modest receiver himself. The Cowboys sent 13 players to the Pro Bowl last season, although not all 13 were deserving. It says here that Roy Williams was the least deserving because he has become such a coverage liability.

Anyway, the 2004 Eagles didn't have as many Pro Bowlers and probably didn't have as much talent as this Dallas team. What the 2004 Eagles did have was a bunch of players who knew how to win big games, which is something the Cowboys have routinely failed to do since Owens' arrival three seasons ago.

Although the Eagles had not won or reached a Super Bowl before T.O.'s arrival juiced things up in 2004, they had won five playoff games, which is five more than the Cowboys have won in the last 11 years. Owens, though still ultra-confident, admitted that the Cowboys have to be focused on winning that first playoff game before they give even think about winning the Super Bowl.

Of course, the key point here is whether the 2008 Cowboys are better than the 2008 Eagles. This Dallas team is more talented, but this Eagles team has a lot of good, young talent on defense, which could make them a better team by the end of the season.

While mostly subdued with Philadelphia reporters, T.O. still apparently gets his shots in at Donovan McNabb when he talks to reporters down in Texas.

“I think the fans and just the excitement of me coming there and being there, it became too overwhelming for Donovan,” Owens said in a Dallas Morning News blog. “Other than that, I think at one point in time I will say that we had a good relationship. I think I got too big for Philly, too big for (McNabb). But here, Tony ([Romo) and I have a great relationship.”

Owens said he had a great relationship with the Philadelphia fans during his conference call and told the Dallas Morning News that his love affair with the city was too much for McNabb.

“I can remember being in (Texas Stadium) and hearing them chanting my name,” Owens said. “That couldn’t bode well for Donovan to hear that. It was an every-week thing.”

Owens said McNabb "made me a better receiver in Philly,” but added, “... I think it would be hard for him to admit that I made him a better quarterback.”

I like the way this report finished up....sure they may be "talented", which is much more sad to say when they haven't won a playoff game in so long. I'd much rather be undertalented and overachieving than the opposite. Personally I just happen to be ultra talented and overachieving, but hey..who cares

LoL. What did you expect TO to say?!?!?! Dumb article. And, by the way, Cowboys fans are all idiots who have no idea about the game. Take if from someone who has been to Texas Stadium and seen it in person.

i am a rabid eagles fan, but did you really write the 2004 eagles had a knack for winning big games?....not only did we lose the SB, but that team was nearly identical to previous teams that had nothing but a knack for losing big games. let's be fair.

Guess what, TO is right. The Cowboys starting team has more talent than the Eagles. Look at their team and they have a better OL and DL, their receiving corp is better and their LB are a touch better. As for QB, I think both are equal because each strives where the other is weak. BUT, all things being said, when it truly counts and stepping up for big games, Dallas comes up short more times than not. This same team had 6 big games last year and came up 2 and 4.

Knuckle Owens can spew his insanity after he wins a play off game. I believe pyscho hasn't played on a single playoff winning team since 2002 (with the Niners). That's eight years and counting since TO has won a playoff game. The Eagles won 5 including 2 the Super Bowl season. TO didn't even play in the two victories. The Eagles lost the Superbowl after Owens rejoined them. If he hadn't played, the Eagles would have won the Superbowl. What a cancer!

Why do Eagle fans get so worked up about the Cowboys? Two reasons...the Cowboys could care less about the Eagles. They are just another opponent on the schedule. The other reason is that the Cowboys have won 5 Superbowls and the Eagles have won none!

the reason Eagles fans get worked up about the Cowgirls and their so called "fans" is that Philly fans despise band wagon jumpers. If any other fan base was as fair-weathered as the Dallas "fans" we would we hate them too. The problem is that there is nobody that even comes close to being as good at band wagon jumping as the Cowboy "fans". For example,we don't despise the Giants fans because they are much better at being fans than the Cowgirls band wagon jumpers. As far as rivalries go, the Giants-Eagles rivlalry is much stronger. We just love when the Ealges beat up on Cowgirls because then you band wagon jumpers all break your legs jumping off (probably onto whichever team is winning at the time.)

I am shocked!!!! Owens saying that the current team he plays on is better than a team that he bitterly left three years ago???? Give me a break. Much about nothing. What's he supposed to do when asked that question: "You know, this Dallas team I'm on right now is good, but that Eagles team was a lot better." Give it a rest.

If the Cowboys lose three in a row, the french kissing between Romo and Owens will turn into a spiral of devisive sniping. Let's hope Samuel converts opportunities into turnovers on Monday and starts the Cowboy's losing streak. He will get plenty. Samuel is the key to this game.

"What the 2004 Eagles did have was a bunch of players who knew how to win big games" - LOL, what BIG GAMES Bob?? Oh you mean the 3 years of ROYALLY choking in the NFC championship game, and then finally winning it the 4th year after the notoriously cheap eagles decided to sign a big weapon like T.O?? Only to royally stink it up in the Super Bowl the following week against the Pats?? The funny thing is, the Cowboys haven't won the "big game" since Owens arrival.. and NEITHER HAVE THE EAGLES. If you want tout the Eagles as being more special because they've managed to win a playoff game or two in recent history, despite falling flat on their faces short of the "big" goal, be my guest. We know it eats you to know that T.O. and Romo have a GREAT relationship, even though you thought this love affair was supposed to come crashing down years ago.

Years from now, after he retires we'll be talking about Terrell Owens getting into a boxing ring with a real fighter in an attempt to extend his celebrity status beyond the football field (i.e. Jose Canseco); or joining a group of pathetic has-been celebrities in some pitiful MTV attempt at entertainment; or selling his used underwear on ebay a la Michael Jackson. Why do we continue to give this self-important guy valuable time and space in the media? Can't we just limit our discussions of him to what he does on the field?

TO is right. The 08 Boys are better than the 04 Birds ...on paper. But it's 08, and the NFC, especially the NFC East, is much stronger now. Also nothing can account for chemistry and personality. The Cowboys will have a huge season if they keep winning, but as soon as they lose a couple games in a row, where TO drops a ball or two and Romo fumbles or throws a pick late in the 4th quarter the wheels will come off. In fact these guys are talking so much smack and the Eagles are just taking the high road, makes me think the Cowboys are about to get embarrassed on National TV. In fact if they lose by more than a touchdown their whole season could get derailed. Think about TO crying in the post game press conference. That is a sweet sight to behold.

This is amusing. Some people ask if cowboy fans hate philly fans as much as they hate cowboy fans, and the answer is no. It is amazing how much animosity you all share for the cowboys, and it is clearly a direct result of jealousy. I am sure you are all just thrilled the cowboys have hit a dry spell the past 10 years, must be nice to finally have something to whine about huh? Just keep in mind when you are referring to playoff success, we still have 5 more rings than you, more NFC championships than you, and more division titles than you. Sucks dont it? YEEEE HAAAA

Think about it when was the last time t.o. played in a game for a team that was in the playoffs and won. It was not with the Eagles. He was hurt and the Eagles won 3 playoff games without him. The game he played they lost. He came up small the last 2 years. He is a fine reciever but talks way too much and to be honest he bores me.
