Did the Eagles get enough for Reggie Brown?
Yes.
No.

And the hits just keep on coming.

On the day the Eagles signed Jason Avant to a five-year deal and restructured Stacy Andrews' contract, they announced that they have traded wide receiver Reggie Brown for an undisclosed 2011 draft choice.

It seemed as if the Eagles would trade Brown, their second-round draft pick in 2005, before last season, but he hung on all year. He was hardly used, however, and caught just nine passes for 155 yards.

Now he's gone.

FROM EARLIER

Stacy Andrews agreed to take a pay cut next season, the Eagles agreed to pay his $4.1 million bonus, and the guard will be back next season, according to a team source.

Andrews' 2010 base salary will drop from $2.95 million to $1.15 million. Last month, the Eagles said that Andrews would need to restructure his contract if he hoped to return for next season. Andrews said that he would accept a pay cut, but that he didn't want his bonus "messed with."

Apparently, both sides got what they wanted.

The Eagles signed Andrews to a six-year contract last off-season, only months after he tore his ACL. Andrews played tackle in his last two seasons with the Bengals, but was switched to guard by the Eagles during the spring.

Andrews, though, hardly played at all. The team said his recovery from the knee injury stalled his return, but Andrews insisted that the knee was alright. He said that playing a different position in a new system kept him from performing up to his capabilities.

With a deal reached, Andrews should be in the mix at right guard, along with Nick Cole, who started there most of last season.

Seems like a lot of cash given his performance last year. Maybe they see greater potential another year out from injury???

My god give the guy a friggin break. He tore his ACL late in the season with the Bengals. It usually takes a full year to recover. Of course athletes are expected to never make injuries an excuse so he won't admit that his knee wasn't strong enough last season. He'll be 100% coming into this season. Judge him then.

no money for Dawk; no shortage of funds for a player who already has demonstrated poor play. ?? On the Eagles, no accountablility for making mistakes... none!

Would everyone rather cut him loose and let Nick Cole and Shawn Andres compete??? With all the other needs on this team I like the fact that they are keeping him around with a full off season to work out and a full training camp (of being healthy) to help compete. As inconsistent our line played last year we need all the competition and depth we can get.

brilliant, why not have traded him to the rams and keep gibson and who needs a garbage pick that this probably is and who won't make the team.

Bottom line - the Iggles have to draft better, much better. Here are the sobering facts on the 2007 draft: Kevin Kolb, Victor Abiamiri Stewart Bradley Tony Hunt C.J. GADDIS. Other than Bradley's short stint none of these players have really contributed. I think we've seen the last of Abiamiri. Bradley? Kolb may still be the QB of the future but we don't get any production out of him sitting...
