Source: No truth to Kolb/Browns report

POSTED: Wednesday, September 22, 2010, 2:46 PM

It seems the Kevin Kolb trade rumors have begun circulating.

The first: A report that the Cleveland Browns contacted the Eagles Tuesday night about acquiring the now-backup quarterback to Michael Vick.

Not true "whatsoever," said a source close to the situation.

Earlier Wednesday morning, Eagles coach Andy Reid could not defintively say that Kolb would not be traded by the Oct. 19 trade deadline.

However, asked if he would listed to trade offers for the 26-year-old, Reid said, "No, I want Kevin Kolb on this football team."

A day earlier, Reid said that Kolb had not asked for a trade. Kolb was asked Wednesday about the possibility of playing for another team.

"Right now I'm focused on, 'I have to be this way,'" he said. "I have to focus on, 'What if I have to go in against Jacksonville.'"

He did seem to leave the door open for a team change with this answer to a question about Reid's loyalty:

"So far to this point he's done what's best for my career," Kolb said. "I trust him and I think this will work out the way it's supposed to."

It time to trade Kolb for some defensive players. I say send Kolb, Sapp, and Asanti Samuel to Oakland for Thomas Howard, Nnamdi Asomugha, and Bruce Gradkowski. Philly even Throw in a third or fourth round draft pick to make the deal go through.

Kolb to Minnesota, all they need to do is stitch his name in place of Favre's! And then say hello (again) to our new back-up Jeff Garcia!!!

Trade Kolb for Colt McCoy. If you can't root for a quarterback from Texas named "Colt McCoy", there is something seriously wrong with you. (^5 to all those posters who mocked the ridiculous number of typos in this blog entry.) I am Oppressed.

Who would offer big bucks for a second round draft pick who played two lousy quarters of football?? Kolb needs a real resume, maybe they can call his daddy for a reference, huh?

Kolbs in his 4th year- look at Sam Bradford, a true rookie and he is playing a lot better. I can't see anyone taking Kolb off our hands.
Come to think of it, I haven't seen a picture of Kolb that looks like he's in charge, he always looks lost- imagine what his team thinks of him. What a wreck.

honestly i doubt that kolbs is going anywhere. this is vick last year on him contract and who knows what he will do.so with keeping kolbs i believe that he will get more training and will start next year and blow everyone out of the water. when he takes us to the play offs..........

Kolb is the victim of our sucky o-line. He may throw well on the run but NOT running for his life. Vick has the talent and presence to overcome the duds that are blocking for him. Let's not forget that Weaver is out too and he was a great blocker.
