Samuel and Jordan not practicing

Cornerback Asante Samuel and linebacker Akeem Jordan were not practicing again for the Eagles today. The pair missed yesterday's practice and have to be considered long shots to play Sunday against the Redskins.

Samuel is trying to come back from a neck strain that he suffered last game against the Bears. A hyper-extended knee kept Jordan out of the last two games.

Eagles defensive coordinator said that Jeremiah Trotter and Joe Mays would continue to split time in the middle if Jordan can't return by Sunday. "It's important to manage expectations," McDermott said of the 32-year-old Trotter.

If Samuel can't play Dimitri Patterson will play left cornerback. Right cornerback Sheldon Brown, meanwhile, was limited at practice today. McDermott said that Macho Harris would continue to play the nickel until Joselio Hanson returns from his four-game suspension.

Happy Thanksgiving!
