As promised, Sheldon Brown showed up for work yesterday at the NovaCare Complex.

The Eagles' cornerback checked in with the rest of his teammates for the post-draft camp that opens tomorrow with morning and afternoon workouts.

He insisted that his contract controversy that resulted in him asking for a trade 11 days ago would not be a distraction.

"It ain't going to wear on my mind," Brown said. "My job is to play football and that's what I'm going to do. I already said this isn't going to be a media circus. I'll speak one time and one time only and this is that time."

You can read more from Brown in tomorrow's Inquirer.

Have you ever seen such a change in attitude so quickly? That Hobbs trade has him worried he may not even see the field this year.

I've ripped Sheldon as much as anyone over the last week or so but I really think he'll be ok this season and won't cause any disruptions. First of all, those comments by him were completely out of character. I think he got some bad advice from his agent or something. The time was right before the draft and it was almost like some sort of ill-conceived plan to try to see if they could generate some trade-offers or something. When Lito reported last year, he had an attitude about the situation from Day 1. It was more than just his contract. He felt like he was being replaced in the starting line-up and he pouted about that. I just watched the video of Sheldon being asked questions on the Eagles website and he seemed to be upbeat and have a very positive attitude towards the whole situation. If he's man enough to realize he made a mistake and can make a positive contribution here, then I've got no problem with him. I have a feeling that, similar to the McNabb situation though, the media is going to beat this story to death until the season starts. The local media is already trying to put Hobbs in a negative light by skewing the info they've reported about him so far. Sheldon messed up...he knows he messed...let's move on to more important stuff. As much as people rip on the Eagles website for presenting a positive outlook on everything, I'm just glad I can go pull video of what these coaches and players are really saying because there's almost always some negative spin put on it by the local media when they filter things.

I say keep him, you never know when someone gets hurt, plus the way the league is now, teams are throwing the ball more. I really don't think he is gong to cause problems a la lee-toe

He wasn't going anywhere anyhow.. He's speaking out of frustration and wants his big payday. In time he will get it. He has high character and can lay the wood on the field (remember he knocked the you know what out of Reggie Bush-that hit made sport center highlights for several days.) The Eagles will have one of the most potent defenses(provided everyone stays healthy) and I can't wait for the offense to start clicking. I will make a bold predicition- I have the Eagles finishing 12-4, winning the NFC East, and going to the Bowl and WINNING IT!!
