Report: McDermott named Panthers DC

Less than a week after the Eagles fired him, Sean McDermott was named the Panthers defensive coordinator, a league source confirmed.

The Eagles have yet to hire a replacement, although former Seattle and Atlanta head coach Jim Mora is considered the leading candidate. Mora was expected to interview with the Broncos for their defensive coordinator opening this evening, according to Jay Glazer of

An interview date with the Eagles has yet to be scheduled and may not be if Denver head coach John Fox doesn't let Mora get away.

Eagles senior assistant Dick Jauron, who has an interview with the Browns set, and former Cardinals defensive coordinator Billy Davis are also candidates.
