Report: Jackson to end holdout

DeSean Jackson will end his hold out and report to Eagles training camp either Monday or Tuesday, according to a report from 6ABC.
Jackson has not reported to Eagles training camp, and while neither he nor his representatives have said anything about the situation, it's well known that he has wanted a new contract that matches his value as a Pro Bowl wide receiver. Jackson does not have a new contract, 6ABC reported.
The Eagles reported to Lehigh on Wednesday, but players were given until Thursday to report before facing any penalties, because of the quick re-start after the NFL lockout. The team only began padded practices Sunday. Jackson could be fined $30,000 for every day of camp he missed, though the team has not commented on any disciplinary action.
Because of his hold out and the lockout, Jackson has not worked with the team since the Eagles season ended in January. With Jeremy Maclin also out of training camp due to an illness, the Eagles have been missing their top two wide receivers.
Jackson's agent and spokesman did not immediately return messages seeking comment.
Drew Rosenhaus is the worst human being in sports. He is to team unity what Ray Carruth was to domestic tranquility. dragoon6
pay this man!
unmatched skillset, recruited namdi, fastest man in the nfl,
been playing for peanuts for years, giant killa, etc...
do i need to continue?
pay this man now!
luv this team! meengreen
I hope his good faith gesture in coming in is met with a good faith new contract. Because him risking his future by playing or even practicing doesn't make sense to me. I'd play hard ball if I were him. andrewc23
Throw him a bone my3cents
Him honoring his contract is not risking his future. He's signed through the end of this season. Whether he's underpaid or overpaid, he's under contract. In the real world he'd be expected to perform under a contract until that contract ended. All that being said, he's underpaid.
And I'm not sure the Eagles ever renegotiated a contract while a player was holding out. Jackson should know that. And he probably did. Him holding out for a few days is probably his way of sending a message. Hopefully the Eagles at least try to make this guy happy. jbob123451
It's great to have him in camp (when he get's here) to start this SuperBowl run. Hope Maclin gets well soon so the whole team can gel. Great move for DJAX. VegasEagleFan
He won't get WR Andre Johnson money, 10 mil / yr, because he lacks the physical tools to be an all-round receiver, but he will get money for his blazing speed. Thinking maybe 6 mil / yr. I wouldn't guarantee much money for D.Jax, not with his frail build. He's one hit away from being yesterday's news. misterhman
The guy is eventually going to get his contract extension, but he has to worry about getting hurt. Is there anyway that Jackson and the Eagles chip in and buy an insurance policy until the contract if finalized? LasVegasScott
I bet they told him if he shows up they wont fine him the 30k a day. FMBNG
Jbob said it right, He has sat out a few days, sending out a message that he is not happy, even though they are aware of that fact, and I am sure he is aware that the Eagles don't deal with hold outs. He is probably looking at the team that is being put togethe and realizes that he wants a part of it. I am sure that he will get his money shortly after he returns...I'm curious on the amount. Comment removed.- How is he supposed to live on a half a million a year? The horror.

He'll get paid. The lockout just ended 5 days ago and the Eagles have been a little busy trying to fill out their roster in case he hadn't noticed. Contract extensions for existing players come after signing free-agents and trades. He knows that. JimG
This guy is going to get paid. He loves Philly and Philly loves him. New York, well they hate him. Everyone hates Rosenhaus though so we at least have that in common. philaflava
Im in the military, i wish i could hold out for money ssince its my last year, hell i only make 23,000 a year lol. Desean deserves the money though i hope they pay him. lighterfluid
