Report: Jackson to end holdout

POSTED: Sunday, July 31, 2011, 8:15 PM

DeSean Jackson will end his hold out and report to Eagles training camp either Monday or Tuesday, according to a report from 6ABC.

Jackson has not reported to Eagles training camp, and while neither he nor his representatives have said anything about the situation, it's well known that he has wanted a new contract that matches his value as a Pro Bowl wide receiver. Jackson does not have a new contract, 6ABC reported.

The Eagles reported to Lehigh on Wednesday, but players were given until Thursday to report before facing any penalties, because of the quick re-start after the NFL lockout. The team only began padded practices Sunday. Jackson could be fined $30,000 for every day of camp he missed, though the team has not commented on any disciplinary action.

Because of his hold out and the lockout, Jackson has not worked with the team since the Eagles season ended in January. With Jeremy Maclin also out of training camp due to an illness, the Eagles have been missing their top two wide receivers.

Jackson's agent and spokesman did not immediately return messages seeking comment.

    Mr. Cornelius;

    Comparing DJax to Stew Bradley is like comparing DoK Halladay to Joey Blanton.

    @king: i'm talking about how an injury makes it really easy for the eagles to avoid paying, not theri football playing ability.If Jackson Shreds his knee this week, and can't perform well upon return, you can bet your bottom dollar hat the Eagles will show no loyalty and let him go. King: where have you been? I miss your funny one liners. Welcome back.

    I got a vibe that D.Jackson is not above being shopped around by the Eagles.

    i understand this is what they get paid, but no one is buying the argument that they owe it to their family. They are less than 1% of the economy, their struggles aren't our struggles

    and oh yeah, glad the new CBA pretty much rendered hold outs useless. Show up to work and outperform, the rest will take care of itself. If the iggs don't want to reward it, hit the free market and some one else will. I don't see why thats hard to understand. If the modern day athletes ego's weren't so big, they would suck it up, take less money and leave a far greater legacy in championships. Who here on these forums wouldn't take DJAX's first contract for 4 years of work?

    I like Jackson but he needs to report to camp. He should know the drill the lock out just ended and they have been working free agents. I would not look kindly on someone who tried shenanigans but that is JMO I have no idea who reps him but this sounds like a Rosenhaus plan/

    We don't know what the holdup is; no one's saying anything; and we know exactly when he'll report?

    Man some of you fans are plain stupid! Jackson deserves to be paid at the rate of a pro-bowl player. don't hate Jackson for doing what he has to do in his business. JN3 claims to be a firefighter, and fire fighters have a union that fights to have firefighters paid wages at fair value for what they do, according to their line of business. I risk my life everyday too, and I have a damn good union that makes sure that I am paid comparible to others in my line of work. Though you may not make millions, your union acts as your agent. So stop complaining about Jackson's money and worry about your own. He deserves to be paid fair for what he does, just like you deserve to be paid fair for what you do.

    The Eagles have always paid there top guys fairly, DJax will get paid. He just needs to realize that with this free agency storm going on it's going to be a month before the Eagles can address the situation.

    has anyone considered the possibility that he DID show up for camp, but due to his slight stature, no one saw him?
