Eagles coach Andy Reid said on his radio show today that backup quarterback Kevin Kolb will start Thursday's preseason finale at the New York Jets and that Michael Vick will be inserted occassionally in that span. Vick will then take over under center in the second half. No word on when, and if, A.J. Feeley will play.

Reid normally gives his starters off in the final tune-up before the regular season, so starting quarterback Donovan McNabb will get the night off.

Reid also said that middle linebacker Omar Gaither sprained his ankle in practice today. Gaither recently returned from a knee sprain and was given the starting spot after Joe Mays lost it.

Like it really matters what happens in a preseason game.

...means they are shopping Kolb, would consider action (but will likely hold) Vick and are keeping Feeley safe.

@redecredico; Yeah, playing your second string quarterback in the fourth preseason game - that never happens. Must mean they are shopping him. Idiot.

I hope we are shopping kolb. We can draft another(better)project QB with the pick we get for Vick next year

there is not a scrap of evidence anywhere that KK is an NFL QB....keep AJ, Vick and #5. Bigger issue is we are soft at MLB and safety....sorry Q Demps...you are a safety wannabe...what is wrong with Q @ safety and Sean Jones at SS...while Macho Harris learns ?

Ahhhhh. They aren't shopping Kolb. No one is going to give up a day one pick for Vick. Ever. Let it go.

My whole thing is as an Eagles enthusiast, I want the WHOLE team to perform well. The jury is still out wheter Demps or Kolb will be productive pros. It's WAY to premature to cast judgments on either guy. Obviously, I don't want Kolb to start, but he may be a very good QB. We haven't seen enough of him to know either way. Most QB come out the block slowly. Same with Demps. I'll never understand why we Philly "fans" actively root against our own. Criticizing play is one thing, but condemning our own players is craziness.
