Reid: no Maclin update yet

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The Eagles did not have an update on Jeremy Maclin this morning, coach Andy Reid said. But he left open the possibility for an update later today.
"Possibly today," Reid said. "We haven't finished today, I don't think. We have a few hours here."
Reid said the team is still awaiting test results on the wide receiver, who last week returned to St. Louis and has not participated in training camp.
"We're still waiting on the tests to come in, then we'll be able to get you that information," Reid said. "When we get it, we'll get it to you and let you know."
Maclin's brother told the Sporting News that Maclin will be fine and that an announcement was upcoming, possibly today.
"That would be great, not just because Jeremy's an outstanding football player but because we love Jeremy as a person," Eagles quarterback Michael Vick said. "Just to get him back and have him around would be just a confidence builder for us as far as getting him back down the road and having him be a part of something that we think is going to be special."
In other news, Reid said right tackle Ryan Harris won't play in Thursday's game against the Steelers. Harris has been out with lower back spasms since Thursday's preseason game. That means King Dunlap will likely start at right tackle, protecting Michael Vick's blind side.
Reid said tackle Winston Justice (knee) is "close" to returning to practice.
Jamaal Jackson will start at center, but rookie Jason Kelce could see some time with the starters, Reid said. The first team will play the first half against the Steelers, and the second and third teams will take the second half.
The following players also won't play Thursday: defensive tackle Antonio Dixon (back), defensive end Brandon Graham (knee), tackle Ryan Harris (back), safety Marlin Jackson (sports hernia), linebacker Greg Lloyd (ankle), defensive end Juqua Parker (calf), defensive tackle Mike Patterson (seizure), wide receiver Steve Smith (knee), tackle Fenuki Tupou (knee) and cornerback Jamar Wall (hamstring).
The Eagles broke training camp after a light practice this morning and will resume training Saturday at the NovaCare Complex.
I thought the Eagles should have drafted a right tackle in the 2011 draft. Watkins may end up being a nice player and all. But you usually draft tackles in the first round! Should have moved up two slots to take Anthony Constanzo.— arrowamy
