Reid and Jenkins go at it on sideline

POSTED: Monday, August 20, 2012, 9:03 PM

FOXBORO, Mass. -- Andy Reid uncharacteristically got into a verbal back and forth with one of his players when he jawed with Cullen Jenkins on the sideline during the second quarter of tonight's preseason game against the Patriots.

The argument was caught by ESPN cameras. Reid said something to Jenkins and the defensive tackle appeared to say something in return to his head coach. Defensive line coach Jim Washburn then stepped in between the two. Reid then yelled at Washburn.

The Eagles had just allowed the Patriots to score a touchdown after they went 80 yards in 13 plays. A Ryan Mallett 7-yard TD pass to tight end Alex Silvestro ended the drive.

Reid was later seen calling Jenkins over and the two had a conversation.

The players are a reflection of their coach. Jaun is a new D coach and lost in turn the players are lost and making too many mistakes.

Glad to see it! These guys need some tough love and some discipline. Like to see the fire.

Jusr wish no stupid penalties and better play from D.

VICK WORRIES ME AS NEVER LOOKED LIKE 2010 SINCE 2010. Last year he rushed and made poor decisions. He needs to get back to 201o form when he was humble and listened to the coaches

One injury every twelve plays for Vick. Looks very promising for season ,already.

Some fire and emotion from Andy Reid is a good thing.

Forget Vick, Foles can run this offense. We got ourselves a QB!

76sixers has a point. look at dalton or tj yates last year. if this team is sound in all other aspects of the game, there is no eason whyfoles couldnt be successful throwing 20-25 passes a game.

Once again Vick is not injured but leaves the game hurt. On the football field in my day if this happened you were called a, well, you know, it's another word for a gentle little kitty cat. Vick is clearly never going to learn to avoid contact and he is unable to withstand the sort of physical pain strong QB leaders are supposed to withstand. Say what you will about McNabb but he was tough.

Vick should be back out on the field. Now.

Anybody think Jenkins will be released tomorrow? I have him as one of the most overrated on the d-line. There are many players on the squad that play tougher and harder.

This office stinks! this OC Morningwigg, stinks! The protection, stinks!, Jackson can only catch the ball in cross patterns. McClain is invisible. Vick cant just throw the ball away, he has to scramble and throw off the protection constantly. Can you block if you dont know where your QB is? The ONLY bright spot in this team is that kid Kendrix, what a find that is, and the special team return men , finally you got guys down there that can run the ball back more than 10 yards. Yeah the D looks better but the safeties are slow, and DRC, hurt,,give me a break. I feel for red, but his job is truly in jepardy.
Get rid of this Coordinators! get quality proven coordinators and change the the stupid scheme, we all know what they are going to do!

calm down boys, it's the preseason. Good on Andy for getting on one of his players. Some of those D penalties were by overzealous players trying to make the team. D looks like it is going to be pretty damn good. Also Foles looks like he might be a real live NFL QB

It's about time that Reid has lashed out at his players for their mistakes. Where was this years ago. This is a good thing.

Just what I like to see from Reid. Figured his message was Less penalties and better tackling. I'm sure he got his point across. Foles,Bryce Brown,Kendricks players to watch. Need to see more of Clay Harbor. I hope Vick only gets 1 drive again next game and more reps for Foles.
