Predicting Eagles 2011 Schedule

POSTED: Wednesday, April 20, 2011, 10:05 AM

OK, so the Eagles haven't added a player via free agency or trade, haven't drafted a single player and are miles from completing their final roster for the coming season -- that is, if there is a season. So, I guess, it's kind of pointless to predict how the schedule might unfold.

Having no clue has never stopped me before, so here's a fearless forecast for the Eagles 2011 slate. I got them going 9-5. What say you?

Sunday, Sept. 11 at St. Louis
It's Michael Vick vs. Sam Bradford or if the lockout still isn't settled, Week 26 of the players vs. the owners. Which would you rather see? CANCELLED

Sunday, Sept. 18 at Atlanta
Vick returns to face the Falcons -- this time as the starter. That is, unless he gets injured in the opener and Kevin Kolb (if he's still here) wins the job back. CANCELLED

Sunday, Sept. 25 N.Y. Giants
What's the over/under on the amount of times DeSean Jackson's Miracle at the New Meadowlands is re-run in the build up to this NFC East rematch? LOSS

Sunday, Oct. 2 vs. San Francisco
Prediction: Like a year ago, a former Eagles quarterback returns to Philly in Week 4 to face his old team. This time it's Kolb, who was dealt to the 49ers for a 2012 first round pick and a box of Rice-a-Roni. WIN

Sunday, Oct. 9 at Buffalo
As if it hasn't suffered enough, Buffalo will have to contend with the invasion of Eagles Nation and its merry band of followers. WIN

Sunday, Oct. 16 at Washington
The Donovan McNabb era in burgundy is over, but that isn't necessarily a good thing for the Eagles. See: Last season's 59-28 drubbing in D.C. WIN

Sunday, Oct. 30 vs. Dallas
If the lockout lasts this long into the season it will be shocker. The players have rims to buy and Jerry Jones has a plastic surgeon to pay. LOSS

Monday, Nov. 7 vs. Chicago
A year ago, Andy Reid called out Jackson following the loss to the Bears. If Jackson hasn't gotten a contract extension at this point -- assuming he hasn't held out -- the mercurial receiver may need another berating. WIN

Sunday, Nov. 13 vs. Arizona
Prediction: Kolb -- traded to the Cardinals for two 2121 first rounders -- returns a hero. He has Arizona first in the NFC West as Eagles fans fret over the gimpy Vick. WIN

Sunday, Nov. 20 at N.Y. Giants
Despite a rough slate of games to come, the Eagles prepare for the Giants by re-watching Tom Coughlin's reaction to Matt Dodge's punt for ages repeatedly instead of game tape. WIN

Sunday, Nov. 27 vs. New England
The Gold Standard plays in Philly for the first time since 2003. The Hair (Tom Brady) and Hoodie (Bill Belichick) harass Reid and the Eagles again. LOSS

Thursday, Dec. 1 at Seattle
Prediction: It's Mike Kafka vs. Kolb, who was dealt to the Seahawks for each of their first rounders for the next millennium. LOSS

Sunday, Dec. 11 at Miami
Rather than practice at the NovaCare Complex in the week prior to the Dolphins game, South Florida native Asante Samuel gets permission to work out at South Beach instead. WIN

Sunday, Dec. 18 vs. N.Y. Jets
No, it's not Santa Claus. It's Rex Ryan and his fetish for football in late December. LOSS

Saturday, Dec. 24 at Dallas
Last season's season finale against the Cowboys was meaningless. If Tony Romo is back in form the second meeting between the two teams could influence the division race. WIN

Sunday, Jan. 1 vs. Washington
With a playoff spot on the line, Jeff Garcia -- in for the injured Vick -- rallies the Eagles past the Redskins and .... Kolb. WIN

As i posted last night on the Eagletarian site, when people do wins and losses, they alway have the Eagles beating the Bears. McLane didn't let me down.

I've seen better writing about the Eagles on the Bleacher Report site and those guys don't get paid. You outta be ashamed to cash your paycheck. Here's a fact: Andy doesn't lose after the bye...

It's all tongue and cheek but c'mon a loss at home to Dallas after the bye? Andy is 12-0 coming off byes and the Pukes are not exactly world beaters (just dick) if you look at their current roster.

Now, now people. Players can't get arrested or bl0w off an appearance every day. Besides, the schedule just came out so they have to put some kind of spin on it. I'm just amazed at how much Kolb gets around!

It is just a joke to keep Eagles fanatics amused off-season. What the H are they supposed to write about. OK it leaves the question -- what do these guys do to earn their pay this year?? but then again that is not my business -- maybe they pull 50 all nighters during the season to write stuff up after each game.

deadlines are brutal huh? What on earth is with all these eagles writers 1) loving kolb 2) loving dallas. Dallas was awful last year. and didnt make any changes of significance. Oh wait Kolb lost to dallas.. as the starter... cmon.. trade him for a pick and a bag of footballs...

This legitimately has to be the worst article I have ever read. I cant believe you guys get paid to do this. All you did was say games are cancelled, make dumb references to the lockout, and then claim that each team we play will trade for Kolb. Your both awful writers, and the only thing worse then that is your sense of humor. No wonder Newspapers are going out of business.

How can you make any predictions as no one has a clue what any team's player make up will be??? Free Agency hasn't happened, and almost all teams have major needs. This is a joke prediction.
