Linebacker Phillip Hunt underwent surgery to repair the partially torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, the Eagles said Thursday.
Hunt became the fourth Eagles player to suffer an ACL injury this training camp, joining wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, receiver Arrelious Benn and linebacker Jason Phillips. Maclin, Benn and Phillips have been placed on season-ending Injured Reserve.
The Eagles said Hunt injured his knee after he left the preseason opener against the Patriots early last Friday night. The team was off Saturday, but Hunt didn't practice the following three days. He attended practice as the Eagles continued evaluating his knee.
The three previous ACL injuries occurred during practice on the same field at the NovaCare Complex.
Hunt, who was being asked to learn a new position after playing defensive end his first two years in the NFL, was on the 53-man roster bubble.
