Apparently, the Flyers aren't the only ones on fire.

Mike Patterson's GMC truck burst into flames today at the NovaCare Complex. The Eagles defensive tackle was not in the truck at the time and no one else was injured, but his vehicle was ashen and crisp after security guards put out the flames with extinguishers.

The Philadelphia fire department arrived soon after. One fireman said that an overheating battery may have been the cause. Patterson was alerted while he was inside the complex working out. He surveyed the damaged along with several of his teammates on the defensive line. Defensive ends Trent Cole and Juqua Parker and defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley were among the group.

No other cars caught fire in the parking lot.

In other news, running back Mike Bell has a hamstring strain, the team announced. He injured his hammy during Monday's practice, missed Tuesday's session and will be out for the next couple of days.

The Eagles also announced that they released punter Durant Brooks.
