Patrick Chung and Brandon Boykin both limited with shoulder injuries

Safety Patrick Chung and cornerback Brandon Boykin are limited at Wednesday's practice. Both are dealing with shoulder injuries. Chung missed last week with an injury, and Boykin sustained a shoulder contusion in Sunday's loss.

Kelly expected Boykin to return for this Sunday's game against the Giants. He  was evasive about how the safety rotation would go when Chung returns.

"It all depends on when he comes back and what his health status," coach Chip Kelly. "I leave a lot of that, when it comes to injury situations, to what our trainers and doctors tell us."

Jordan Poyer practices in the nickel in Boykin's place. Boykin was injured on a punt.

Kelly said Cedric Thornton is playing the best on the defense at this point. That's one of the reason Vinny Curry is not playing as frequently.

The Eagles have been outscored 81-44 in the second half this year.

"I think a lot of teams we've played so far have run the same thing in the first half as they did in the second half," Kelly said. "It hasn't been a schematic change from the first half to the second half."
