Parker: Can we talk football?

Juqua Parker hasn't publicly spoken about his early August marijuana possession arrest, and he's still choosing to stay mum on the subject. The defensive end was asked yesterday if he felt bad about the training camp distraction. "I'm not ready to talk about that," Parker said. "If you want to talk football, we can do that." Parker had a preliminary hearing a few weeks back and isn't expected to be back in court until after the season.

Here are some other tidbits from yesterday:

-- Kevin Kolb was asked if there was any lingering shock over the Eagles signing Vick: "I think it was knocked off a lot quicker than the media knocked it off," he said. "Once you get in here and put your helmet on everything kind of goes away and get back to what you know. I believe that a few days, 36 hours, whatever it was, we were ready to get him out on the field and work him into the offense."

-- Sheldon Brown said that he hasn't missed a regular season or preseason game in his seven previous years in the NFL. That streak ended when the cornerback missed last Thursday's game in Indianapolis with a rib injury. "I could have played," Brown said. "I'm just taking care of my body." Brown practiced yesterday, but took a break after he appeared to have re-injured his ribs.

-- Omar Gaither knows that his knee injury is going to hinder his chances of claiming the middle linebacker job away from Joe Mays. "It shouldn't, but it does," Gaither said. "There's nothing I can do about it now, but get ready to come back and go from there."
