Mornhinweg says Kolb had 'no effect'

Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg took a subtle dig at his former protege, Kevin Kolb, saying the ex-Eagle quarterback had no effect on the game. This came after Kolb said on local radio he was calling out plays to the Cardinals defense based on his knowledge of the Eagles scheme.

"That’s a story you can always anticipate, an ex-player that's on another ballclub and who’s injured and wants so badly to be a part of a win," Mornhinweg said. "In the two-minute (offense) we only called two plays on the line. Completed the third down and then dropped a big one."

Mornhinweg said he reviewed film and didn't see any impact from Kolb (though how exactly he could tell isn't clear, since the Cardinals did successfully stop the Eagles).

"It’s clear on film. Also I think that stuff's sort of overrated. Just put yourself in a corner's position, and some guy on the sideline’s yelling at you something. You've got to trust yourself," Mornhinweg said.

"I did check and it had absolutely no effect."

Mornhinweg's lack of concern about Kolb's knowledge comes in stark contrast to a coaching staff that usually guards even the smallest bits of information for fear that it might give opponents an edge.

"No effect" sort of sums up Kolb's career.

*ick and Kolb are with 1.5 QB rating points this year. And Kolb has ONE guy (apparently we didn't know that). Buy HEY! *ick is EXCITING! He can RUN! Which is fine if you're a RB. Shame he's dumb as a stump.

Marty, which had more effect on the last quarter....Kolb's recognition and shouting out your feeble game plan OR YOU INABILITY TO HAVE THE BEST RUNNING BACK IN THE LEAGUE AT THIS TIME BE USED TO PROTECT A LEAD AND DRAIN TIME OFF THE CLOCK....The time is yours...
either way it showed what a joke you and Andy are as game managers....and you better start looking for a new house as your employement here is about to end....and then you will see how loyal Andy is to you and Juan...Not

You would think the Eagles coaches would be smart enough not to run the same plays from when Kolb was here but then again......

Marty you dont even need to be KKolb to figure out your game plan ...come on!
It wasn't some guy telling the corners...that guy was their franchise QB. Trust me I fully believe he knew all the plays ...in fact he knows them better then Vick...and reason we couldnt change up the calls ..is b/c Vick cannot handle that kind of studying. Marty has lost everywhere he's been. Get out and take your friend with you.

What would you expect Morningwig to say? "Yes, we were stupid enough to keep the same calls."

Better record? 3 wins for both teams, no? And that "better record" is not due to Kolb so what is your point? The Cards record is better when Kolb hasn't played. 'Nuff said. Why bring Vick into it? I never mentioned him. We have seen Kolb and Vick at their best and worst. Is there really an argument there? NO!

Frank you hit it on the head.....Andy I hope you are reading....Kolbs BACKUP...a 4th rounder out played the guy you anointed our started and gave 100 million to....awesome. Same QB that refuses to slide, stinks under pressure and never makes it a full season healthy...and oh guess what....he's going to miss a game again...whadda you know?

    why need kolb?
eagles offensive coordinator is the same guy who, when head coach of the lions WON AN OVERTIME COIN FLIP AND ELECTED TO KICK OFF.
lions lost that game no surprise.

i mean not to make excuses but Mike Vick broke ribs on the second play of the game. Its going to be easy for someone to outplay him.
