Michael Vick holds book signing during week of violent threats

Five days after Michael Vick canceled scheduled book signings amid violent threats, Vick held a charity even and signed books Saturday at a Georgia church.

Vick appeared at the Victory for the World Church in Stone Mountain, Ga. The event came after Vick received messages of support from fans, community groups, and churches following the cancelled book signings, according to a release.

“Every day I receive the support and kindness of people who want me to succeed and want others to know they can succeed, too," Vick said in the statement. "I will continue to help make my community a better place today, tomorrow and after my football career.”

In other news, the Giants added another Philadelphia-area linebacker on Saturday with the signing of Dan Connor, a Strath Haven and Penn State product. Connor joins Mark Herzlich, a Conestoga alum who's already on the Giants.

Connor was released by the Cowboys this week.
