Michael Vick: 'He's thinking about making a change at the quarterback position'

What is most to blame for the Eagles’ defensive failings?
The line’s lack of sacks
The secondary
The scheme
It all goes back to Andy Reid.

Michael Vick understands everything is being evaluated -- including quarterback -- after the Eagles' 30-17 loss to the Atlanta Falcons dropped the team to 3-4.

"Obviously, he's thinking about making a change at the quarterback position," Vick said of Andy Reid. "The thing I do know, and I'll go watch the film and I'll evaluate myself, is that I'm giving us every opportunity to win. I'm trying my hardest. Something don't go right when I want them to. Some things do. If that's a decision that coach wants to make, then I support it."

After his news conference, Vick was asked again about his remarks.

It's tough when you know everything is in the balance, but that's the decision that coach is thinking about making, and I'm going to fight until he says, 'Come on out,' and he takes me out of the game," Vick said.

Vick went 21 of 35 for 191 yards and one touchdown on Sunday. He also rushed for 45 yards.

When Vick was asked if he's playing like a franchise quarterback, he wavered. He keeps talking about effort, but performance also needs to be there.

"I don't know if playing like a franchise quarterbacks means throwing three or four touchdowns week in and week out and doing everything right," Vick said. "But I know I've been there before and despite it all, I still feel like I do a lot of positive things out there and that's all I can ask. But I still have to evaluate myself and be critical of myself and we'll go from there."

Wide receiver DeSean Jackson said he's "sticking with" Vick.

"He's here, he's our quarterback," Jackson said. "Until something different happens, I got to roll with it. I feel he does a good job. Just got to make it easier on everybody."

sure...let's blame Vick for this loss, the loss to Detroit, global warming, all of the dog fighting that is happening across America and the strained race relations in this country...Being a QB in Philly is probably harder than the time he served in prison....

Most people watching this game today know what the problem is - the team quit !

No, not anyone area, the whole team.

Laurie has to know who they quit on - it is Andy Reid ?

At this point, it makes no difference.

Reid and Vick need to be replaced. Continued support for them by management, will erode any confidence that they know anything about what is going on.

Painful to do in midseason, but the seperation now will be a hundred times better than a total collapse. That is where they are headed if they don't make the tough changes now.

U can blame the defense all u want, but the problem with this team is that our coach does not know how to use his weapons. McCoy 15 touches, in a GM.

Maybe I'm a voice in the wind, but the season isn't over yet at 3-4. Bowles had a tough initiation against a QB on the rise. He will learn from what Atlanta did. As for the offense, it wasn't all Vick's fault, but he seemed ordinary, and his comments indicate he's no longer confident in the team or his abilities. Now Reid will put in Foles, run the ball more and the offense will come to life.

I think your breaking wind. One thing that was noticeable today was the size of Atlanta's receivers compared to the Eagles receivers. They can catch the ball and break tackles. Notice the Eagles are no longer catching many long balls, and now their offense is looking very dull. Shady is the only player that provides any excitement.

Wow Vick didn't turn the ball over. So. He cost the team all the other losses. Why can't the O bail out the D? Because they F%$#king suck. Marty has to go too. He's lost a step and the play calling is horrendous.

Vick is the "Ryan Howard" of baseball? What an insult to one of the greatest Phillies in history. Yes, Howard does have a ring doesn't he? I said before the season, the Eagles at best would be 8-8. I should have said 6-10. I made the remark after Vick's "dynasty" comment. The Phillies are a dynasty. The Eagles, as always , are a joke. Until Andy Reid is fired & he new regime gets a chance to rebuild this thing from the ground up, there will be no hope for the Eagles. They don't have the talent, desire, or leadership to do what our baseball team has done & will do again. Case closed.

It isn't Vick - its the line - anyone else back there would be in the hospital - so if want NF to end the season on IR and be behind and timid next year, by all means make the switch.

Vick had a few passed batted down. He also ran a two minute drill that looked like Mcnabb in the Super Bowl. Way too slow at 31-10 getting it to 31-17. Did you ever see Brady or Manning run the two minute? It's like a military drill. Vick was not the reason we lost but he has not shown improvement in the year as whole. Time to move on. Only Foles can save Reid's job.
