McNabb gets his revenge

POSTED: Sunday, October 3, 2010, 7:20 PM

Donovan McNabb was anything but perfect but the former Eagles quarterback did enough to lead the Redskins past his old team, 17-12, upon his return to Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.

McNabb, cheered during his introduction, essentially clinched the game when he scrambled 18 yards for a first down on third-and-four from his own 22-yard line. The Eagles had narrowed the Redskins' margin to five with a little over four minutes left, but McNabb guided his offense into Eagles territory and milked the clock down to close to a minutre left.

Kevin Kolb, who replaced the injured Michael Vick in the second quarter, could not drive the Eagles to the winning touchdown. He had 1:07 to work with and had to travel 74 yards with no timeouts left.

After a roller coaster first half, but defenses ruled the day as McNabb struggled and Kolb and the Eagles offense failed to generate a spark.

McNabb completed only 8 of 19 passes for 125 yards. He threw a beauty of a 32-yard score to tight end Chris Cooley in the first half, but tossed an interception in the third quarter.

The game took a dramatic turn when Vick left with a rib/chest injury after he ran for a near-touchdown. That play, however, was reversed when Eagles guard Max Jean-Gilles was called for holding.

The game-turning moment, however, had to be when Eagles coach Andy Reid failed to realize just before the half when the officials had re-started the game clock after he called a timeout on fourth-and-one on the Washington 1-yard line. The Eagles were pushed back five yards and had to settle for a field goal and a 17-6 deficit at the half.

Jiggy say McNabb played very well in the 1st half, and should've had 2 TD's if not for Fred Davis' cement feet. Receivers have to be able to go up and get it too. 2nd half was nothing to write home about, but he still made more big plays than Kolb (vintage w/his feet too) and deserved the win.

Pigsticker is sh*t. Looks like the 2nd coming of Trent Edwards. Checking down all day, never really saw the field very well, and left receivers running open downfield. I hope Vick gets well soon is what Jiggy say.

Jeffrey Lurie hasn't gotten one dime of my money, and he never will.

A perfect outcome...McNabb gets a real coach who owns two (2) Super Bowl Rings....A Reid screwes up a time out...and misses a chance to score a TD.....A Reid's franchise QB is once again shown to be totally inadequate......and Michael was subpurb......but the ignorant haters will take join in his injury (how classy is that) and I understand the sophmoronice am talk show host who wears a skirt is shown to be a yelling idiot again......a perfect weekend....Fire Andy.....oh yes, his selected players are really great run stoppers.....as the giants, the cowgirls, the packers and every other team now knows how to beat us up......run run run........thanks andy...one more supurp job by you....Hello Jeffery....Time to pull the plug on AReid..

I'm laughing at the know-nothings who think Avant lost the game because he dropped a contested Hail Mary. Yeah, it was Avant's fault! Not the total inability to stop the run, Kolb's not seeing/missing wide open recievers, Reid's delay of game goof before halftime, or the penalties. I really want Kolb to be a great QB for the Eagles, but he looks awful. McNabb would have won that game. I'm not saying that to be controversial either. He makes those throws that Kolb missed.

That was funny Syd...oh, you're serious? Philly Mike, it's Avants fault? Like KK was actually trying to get the ball to him? Any Hail Mary is a heave and a prayer, nothing more. I'm surprised KK could even hit the end zone at all. Kolb is more lost than I've ever seen him. His performance is 100% based on what the rest of the O can do with those "accurate" 5 and 8 yard bombs. I said before his lack of arm strength will allow the D to compress the field. KK simply does not have the talent to make the secondary respect the deep ball. He is destined to be a back up QB at best. I've seen enough.

Of course Angelo wanted to see McNabb booed. He wasn't born here and he has no motive to show Philly as a class city- he is just here to make an jerk of himself and play up the classless philly hype. Him and that mindless sheep Rhea that agrees to everything he says.

And on a lighter note, wiff's prediction record for 2010 continues to be perfect. He's been wrong 100% of the time. Hey wiff, Vegas is sending a jet for you...gladly. Maybe they can drop you off in Minny on the way back? Just tryin' to help.

2 bad teams. Vick is a circus act who will get pounded in today's NFL by the good teams. Teams are bigger and faster than 5 years ago. Skinny running QBs like him will not last.
