HARRISBURG, Pa. -- LeSean McCoy said that he planned on joining quarterback Michael Vick and other Eagles for informal practices next week in the Philadelphia area.
The Eagles running back was hosting his second annual "Community Day" at Reservoir Park on Saturday, just a stone's throw from his former high school Bishop McDevitt. McCoy has spent most of the off-season in Miami, but he said that he would take part in the workouts Vick and tight end Brent Celek were organizing.
"I plan on it," McCoy said. "If we have it I'll be there. We really miss that stuff, man. Everything we need is right there [at the NovaCare Complex]."
The Eagles, of course, have been locked out for the last two months as the NFL work stoppage lingers on. They were given a brief window to return to the team facility last month, one McCoy said he took advantage of.
Otherwise, the third-year running back has spent the last few months working out in Florida under the watchful eye of agent Drew Rosenhaus. Speaking of Rosenhaus, the ubiquitous agent made an appearance here in support of his client.
McCoy was expecting Vick to show but he said the quarterback had to cancel because of the weather. There was a brief period of drizzle during the shootout. Celek, guard Todd Herremans, running back Eldra Buckley and linebacker Jamar Chaney did manage to brave the weather and make it to Reservoir Park.
