Kolb has MCL sprain; Cole AC shoulder sprain

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Backup Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb has an MCL sprain in his left knee and will miss Thursday's preseason game against the Patriots. Defensive end Trent Cole has an AC shoulder sprain and will also sit out the game. Both players will then be listed as day-to-day.

Also, according to a team source, wide receiver Brandon Robinson was cut from the team just after the afternoon special teams practice here at training camp. The move was likely made to make room for a new quarterback. The team will probably bring in a camp body (paging Adam DiMichele ...) until Kolb returns.

Those calls for Michael Vick and Brett Farve were a tad presumptuous, although understandable considering the injury plague that has swept through Eagles camp.

UPDATE: That didn't take long. Apparently, the Eagles have signed a new quarterback -- Arena League QB Matt Nagy.
