Eagles backup quarterback Kevin Kolb knows that some fans have already deemed his second-round selection in the 2007 draft a bust and he understands why they feel that way.

"That's what they've seen," he said during an interview at Tra Thomas' charity golf tournament last week in Deland, Fla. "If I introduce myself to an individual and he acts like a fool, I think he's a fool, but I've only known him for three minutes. I can't blame the fans for that. I just have to look forward to the next time I get a chance to prove myself."

Kolb, who plans to return to Philadelphia for the start of the team's offseason training program April 6, talked extensively about the infamous game in Baltimore and his future. You can read the story in tomorrow's Inquirer.

In other news, free agent tight end L.J. Smith's quest to find a new team might be down to Detroit Lions. Negotiations between the tight end and the Atlanta Falcons have fallen apart. The Lions are the only other team that Smith has visited.
