Jorrick Calvin placed on IR
Jeff McLane, Inquirer Staff Writer
The Eagles placed Jorrick Calvin on injured reserve today because of an unspecified back injury. The team has not yet added another player to their 53-man roster to replace the cornerback/returner.
Calvin injured his back against the Giants and didn't practice yesterday or today. Calvin had primarily handled kick returns for most of the season and also filled in occassionally in returning punts.
The Eagles acquired Calvin in a trade with the Arizona Cardinals just before the start of the season.
The Eagles reportedly worked out a few kick return specialists this week. Receivers Chad Hall and Jeremy Maclin have returned kicks before.

wow huge loss, now maybe someone can return a kick beyond the 20 yard line tooltime
Another Injury to a key player. Calvin is a good returner and has alot of speed. The Eagles need to draft a return specialist in the 2011 Draft. briandawkins20
Oh no! Who will return kick offs to the 22 yard line now! ej610
Calvin was average at best...this is no real loss! robihart15- Agreed. Future potential but no loss this season.
Ladies and Gentlemen, more Chad Hall! tgray83- Maybe one of the linebackers will return kicks!
Thanks for the contribution. That's it for the Calvin and Hobbs return duo. Lots of speed in this guy, sorry to hear. Get healthy now, Merry Christmas! hallux
