Jeremy Maclin will not practice

POSTED: Wednesday, September 12, 2012, 1:08 PM

Jeremy Maclin will not practice Wednesday with a hip pointer. Maclin suffered the injury on Sunday and his status for this week's game against the Baltimore Ravens remains in question. Coach Andy Reid said Maclin's health has improved and has not be ruled out for Sunday.

The Eagles signed Mardy Gilyard on Tuesday, and Gilyard is with the team on Wednesday.

"You saw Mardy make plays," Reid said. "He was able to handle the X and Z positions, mentally. And then he went out and make plays. Gives him an opportunity to come back out here. We had a lot of tough cuts we had to make. That was one of them."

UPDATE: Riley Cooper practiced with the Eagles on Wednesday, his first time since suffering a broken collarbone on July 28. Andy Reid said Monday that Cooper will not be ready for this week.

It doesn't matter who the wideouts are as long as Vick is throwing to them. This guy zeros in on his primary and ignores wide open other recievers. He has no ability to move sideways in the pocket or up into the pocket, which all the elite quaterbacks do as second nature. His only saving grace is that he is so reckless, when he runs, that we will be seeing his replacement very soon. The over under for Ed Reed is three picks and the Ravens by 20. Andy's only hope is that my beloved Eagles can move on quickly to Foles and hope that he is the rare rookie, like flacco, who can handle the game in his first season.

I've got the Ravens down for at least 3 picks, maybe more, and Ed Reed will get at least one of them. Ravens will win 28-13.

We'll sure miss Maclin if he doesn't play Sunday. To my way of thinking, he's the number one receiver on this offense. He was darn good, even playing hurt last week. Hard to replace.
