Jamaal Jackson has triceps surgery

Eagles center Jamaal Jackson underwent a procedure to have his right triceps tendon repaired, the team said. The surgery was performed by team physician Peter DeLuca of the Rothman Institute in Philadelphia.

Jackson suffered the injury during the second quarter of the Eagles' season opener against the Green Bay Packers. He was officially placed on injured reserve on Monday and will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.

The 30-year-old Jackson battled back from a Dec. 2009 anterior cruciate ligament tear in his left knee to start in the opener. Mike McGlynn replaced Jackson and will start Sunday when the Eagles travel to Detroit.
