Injury list grows: Herremans, Chaney, Atogwe

POSTED: Thursday, August 2, 2012, 5:47 PM

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The injuries continue to pile up at Eagles training camp as a number of players left the afternoon session on a hot August day.

The most significant injury appeared to be a hamstring pull that sent Jamar Chaney into the locker room. The linebacker had just earned a spot up on the first team nickel defense, but now he appears headed to the Eagles' growing injury list.

Chaney will have an MRI, the Eagles said. Rookie Mychal Kendricks, the strong-side starting linebacker, took Chaney's place in the nickel defense.

Tackle Todd Herremans missed all of practice with a right shoulder injury. Rookie Dennis Kelly took his place at right tackle.

Safety O.J. Atogwe left practice early with a right groin injury. Wide receiver Jamel Hamler left with a right hamstring injury. Running back LeSean McCoy and safety Nate Allen left practice early with cramps.

The Eagles were already down several players, especially on the defensive line. Defensive ends Jason Babin (calf) and Trent Cole (shoulder) are out, as are defensive tackles Cullen Jenkins (hamstring) and Mike Patterson (brain surgery). Tight end Brent Celek (knee) appears to be close to returning, however.

The Eagles did work out a defensive end today -- Morkeith Brown from Temple.

There was a live hitting session scheduled for the end of practice, but coach Andy Reid must have decided to ease off his players in light of the injuries.

OK, even if you think he cheated, AFTER that he still went 16-0 in a regular season with 2 superbowl appearances, and one of the best win/loss records in the entire league. compared to Andys mediocre 12th in win/loss the last few years and 0 playoff wins. So with cheating bellichek won 3 superbowls, without it he still dominates most of the league, especially Andy who is 0-5 against him not even able to beat him a SINGLE TIME, INCLUDING POST 04. ITS PATHETIC.

And don't you people get it by now CG25 is no Eagles fan, if he thinks he is he is even more delusional than previously thought. He picks the ONLY scab left to pick which is the lack of super bowl. I can tell you I know hundreds of fans, and not one of them thinks everything the Eagles have done the past 15 years is worthless and meaningless because we don't have a Lombardi trophy. To a man sure we all want that as much as the next guy, but I for one don't miss the days of Braman, Kotite, Campbell and Ryan where we were lucky to make the playoffs once every 5 years and never got out of the first round. CG25 used to constantly whine and attack them for not running the ball. Now that they were THE BEST running team in the NFL last season and didn't even make the playoffs, clearly he doesn't have a bleeping clue what he's babbling about and it shut him up. So now sadly clinging to his last morsel of hate like the fat lazy couch ridden slob he is, he comments on every article about super bowls What a bleeping bleep hole and clearly a delusional freak or an imposing hater from another city.
