Eagles sign rookie RB Scott

Running back Charles Scott became the first 2010 Eagles rookie to sign a contract when he and the team agreed to a four-year deal today.

The deal, according to a league source, is worth $1.88 million. The Eagles still have 12 rookies that they selected in the draft that remained unsigned. Many of those players should get inked over the next month. As that happens, the Eagles will be forced to cut players to keep their roster under the 80-man limit.

A sixth-round pick out of LSU, Scott ran for 2,317 yards on 434 carries (a 5.3 average) and 32 touchdowns during his career with the Tigers.

The Eagles resume voluntary workouts with the full team today at the NovaCare Complex.
