Eagles get two 7th-round picks

ORLANDO -- The Eagles were given two seventh-round compensatory draft picks for the free agents they lost last season, coach Andy Reid said.

The formula isn't an exact science, but the NFL gave the Eagles the two picks based mostly on the production of safety Brian Dawkins and running back Correll Buckhalter. Both players signed with the Broncos last season. Tackle Tra Thomas was signed by the Jaguars last off-season, but didn't play much.

The two additional picks give the Eagles eight draft choices in the upcoming draft. They have picks in each of the first six rounds -- including the 24th overall pick in the first round -- and now two in the seventh.
