And another one bites the dust.

A day after the Eagles confirmed that defensive coordinator Sean McDermott had been fired, the team let defensive line coach Rory Segrest go, a team source said.

Segrest had been the defensive line coach for the last two seasons, and before that he was the Eagles' special teams coordinator for two seasons.

His firing comes as the Eagles are conducting a search for a replacement to McDermott. The team will likely wait to name a new defensive line coach until after a coordinator is hired.

The defensive line, despite some off-season retooling, failed to produce as the Eagles had hoped. Defensive end Trent Cole finished with ten sacks, but had just three in his final eight games. Defensive end Juqua Parker had two sacks after recording four in the first three games. And rookie end Brandon Graham never seemed to improve as the season progressed, even before he suffered a season-ending ACL knee injury.

More coaching changes could be in store. Defensive backs coach Dick Jauron is a candidate for the Eagles' coordinator position, and will interview with the Browns for their defensive coordinator position this week. Bill Suhey, another young coach that worked his way up the coaching ladder under head coach Andy Reid, coaches the linebackers.
