This can only be good if Tony Dungy has agreed to be the Defensive Cordinator this season!

Glad to see that people aren't calling him the "missing link" on here. Finally people with some sense.

PATHETIC THAT SOME PEOPLE CARE MORE ABOUT HOW FAST VICK CAN RUN, THAN VICK'S TERRIBLE CRIMES THAT HE COMMITTED.

I've always loved the eagles but this is a nightmare. Go phillies. Go sixers. Yes, he paid his price but there are certain jobs that don't fit. A child molester might serve his time but I don't want him teaching kindergarten. A bad decision.

So much for only "Players with Character" that the Eagles so strongly asserted years ago. Maybe the two players that they cut for similar offenses should sue the team for reinstatement. Just coat him in gravy and throw him in with some of the dogs he tortured. If he comes out of that, maybe we'll use him.

I am sickened by the decision A.) to even reinstate him B.) let him become a role model to our children and C.) allow him to be paid to play again. he is sub-human with NO remorse. the eagles will be cursed with a LOSING season for allowing this dog torturer to once again represent the NFL. How sad. I vote for a new leader of the league, one with the guts to stand up and say NO we won't allow our league to continue to be tarnished over and over again by gross misconduct by players in the league. Where is that man or woman that will say NO MORE! We will change! ? GO DOLPHINS!!!!!

Barbara please just go away. You need not insult a city based on the actions of their football team. Get a grip and grow up. And ipuritani, a child molester teaching kindergarten is a little different than an animal abuser playing football. How does that even compare? Some of you people need to get a sense of relativity.

SPCA needs to work with Vick, McNabb and Reid to ensure Vick spends sometime each week to find a new owner for an abandoned dog. On game day when the pre-game activities start, Vick should formally handover the dog to the new owner in front of ten cameras. It will heal his soul and it will be great PR for SPCA, NFL and Eagles. Vick has paid for his crime; it is time to go the extra mile and give a second change to a dog every week just like the second change he just got. Eagles has to make this an all out positive situation.

About Birds' Eye View Blog

Bob Brookover, left, is in his seventh year of covering the Philadelphia Eagles after spending 15 years covering the Philadelphia Phillies for the Inquirer and two other newspapers. The 45-year-old Brookover lives in Delran with his wife Francine and roots for Notre Dame and Michigan State, the two schools attended by his children, Justine and Ryan. When Notre Dame plays Michigan State, he cheers for the school of the child he likes more at that particular moment.

Jeff McLane, right, joined the Eagles beat in April 2009 after two years of covering colleges, namely Penn State football. Before that he covered high school sports for The Inquirer. Before that he worked in the mailroom (not quite). Informed that his father is no longer covering the Lions, McLane's eldest, three-year-old son said, "You mean Simba, Scar and Mufasa, Daddy?" His two-year-old son -- excited about the move to the Eagles -- said, "Go, Deigo, Go!" or something like that. His wife of five-plus years, however, had a different take on the new job. "Another five years is in question," she said. Check out McLane on Twitter and Facebook for instant updates on the Eagles.
