Eagles to add Emil Igwenagu to active roster

The Eagles will promote fullback/tight end Emil Igwenagu from the practice squad to the active roster, according to two sources. The Eagles must make a corresponding move on the 53-man roster to open up a spot. They need Igwenagu because Brent Celek has been ruled out for Thursday's game, leaving Clay Harbor as the lone tight end on the roster.

Igwenagu played both fullback and tight end during training camp and the preseason. He filled in for Celek when Celek suffered an injury in camp. Igwenagu is 6-foot-2 and 245 pounds and is in his first season out of UMass.
