Eagles sign two interior linemen

POSTED: Monday, March 19, 2012, 2:15 PM

On the day guard Evan Mathis met with reporters following his signing a five-year contract with the Eagles, the team announced the additions of two other interior linemen.

They agreed to terms with Mike Gibson last week, but did not finalize the two-year deal until today. Gibson, 26, is back for his second stint in Philadelphia. Drafted in the sixth round of the 2008 draft, he left for Seattle in 2009.

In 2010, Gibson (6-foot-3, 298 pounds) started in eight games at guard. He appeared in the final three games of last season.

The Eagles also signed center/guard Steve Vallos to a one-year contract. He spent four seasons with the Cleveland Browns (2010-11) and Seattle Seahawks (2008-09), playing in 40 games and starting in eight. Vallos, 27, was orginally drafted in the seventh round by Seattle.

*************************

Eagles center Jason Kelce said that he still had a few more weeks of rehab on his foot before he's 100 percent healthy. Kelce injured his foot in the season finale. There was concern that he had a Lisfranc foot sprain, but tests revealed only a strain.

This organization spit in Jammal jackson's face and in the face face. For three-fourths of the season we had to watch Kanlce figure out how to play while Jackson, an above average to all pro center, sat on the sidelines. Why couldn't they have start jackson for two years or even one while waiting for klance to develop? now he is hurt, we could have jackson step in. but no now Klance is gonna lose the progress he made and the center position will be a revovling door again.

I cant say that i agree with it but I cant understand the organization spitting in Jammal Jackson's face. But also spitting in his face face seems a little over the top.

yea that Klance/kanlce guy sure is going to lose all that progress he made, but fortunately I think Kelce should be okay seeing as how he won't miss any actual games or even any camps since they don't start until mid/late next month..

half of these so called fans need to go scout other teams and wake up and realize that building a team will have hits and misses but we not be a thriving organization if the people running it didnt know what they were doing ...idiots that expect big signings for every position and first to 3rd round picks starting and backing up every position are delusional ..wake up and take a look around the league !!....because we havent won a super bowl doesnt excuse ignorance

This team never fails with the stupid moves it makes.I will be one happy camper when this ownership/management team passes the torch to someone who knows the game.
