The Eagles have claimed tackle D.J. Jones off of waivers from the Ravens, the team said.

The team also named Keith Gray assistant strength and conditioning coach to replace Roger Marandino, who became the head strength and conditioning coach with the Colts.

Jones, listed as 6-foot-5, 315 pounds, was an undrafted free agent who spent the first six weeks of the past season on the Dolphins' practice squad. He spent most of the rest of the year on Baltimore's practice squad and moved to the active roster in the final week of the season. He played tackle and guard at Nebraska in college.

Gray, 38, was the associate strength and conditioning coach at the University of Georgia. He played in college at Virginia Tech from 1991-1994, teaming then with Eugene Chung, who is an assistant to the Eagles' strength and conditioning coach.

Can this guy play safety or middle linebacker, or catch the ball over the middle to move the chains, or score a redzone touchdown, or rush for a 3rd and one first down, or lead a clutch 4th quarter touchdown drive? Let me know.

Jeff McLane reported the DJ Jones part of this story on January 25(http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/eagles/20120125_Roseman_still_looking_for_success_with_top_picks.html); that's two weeks ago. Hopefully, Tamari won't beat Jeff up because he's better at getting the scoop like Les Bowen did earlier.

He has good size at least. Here's a simple question (not answered anywhere in the article that I can see), does he play O or D? Nothing major...

That's it, no need to even get involved in the draft or free agency, this makes the Eagles legit super bowl winners next year!!

akh, since he played tackle and guard in college, I'll assume he's an offensive line guy.

lol, I first assumed defensive tackle too. You think a report would know there are offensive and defensive tackles in football and be more specific about which one. No t that it matters too much, the Eagles are just trying to get some guys to come in and compete for some back-up positions and be available for mini-camps right now.
