Eagles sign DTs Hargrove, Landri

The Eagles have signed defensive tackled Anthony Hargrove and Derek Landri, adding to the competition for depth at the position.

Neither is a star, but each has several years of NFL experience and could compete for backup jobs.

Hargrove is entering his 8th NFL season, almost entirely as a reserve. He played for the Saints for the past two years, playing in 14 games in 2010 with no starts. He had one sack last year, five in 2009. He's considered versatile enough to play end or tackle, but will come to the Eagles as a tackle. He was suspended for the entire 2008 season for failed drug tests.

Landri is entering his 5th NFL season. He started 16 games for Carolina last year, recording three sacks. Those were the first starts of his career.
