Eagles sign 49ers practice squad LB
Jeff McLane, Inquirer Staff Writer
The Eagles signed linebacker Monte Simmons off the 49ers practice squad on Monday.
Simmons, signed as an undrafted rookie free agent, spent all of last season on San Francisco's practice squad. He's listed at 6-foot-3, 226 pounds and played college football at Kent State.
Over his four years at Kent State he recorded 21.5 sacks and 38.5 tackles for loss as a defensive end, according to the team's Web site. He's a native of Swissville, Pa., which is near Pittsburgh.

Never heard of him. What's with the Eagles and undersized players? MrMiles1

I am back in the nest again. Romus
what is his 40time? we might can use him as a WR or safety Yes_General
Switching him to TE would be great. You get a Special Teams ace and an athletic TE for 3 TE sets. And he comes cheap! Eagle_1960
I can hear his high motor reving now.... outta work
Kent State = Andy Reid U CharlieGarner25
Another under sized LB that will be blown up with Eagles "wide 9" defense. reggleston38
The guy is light. He runs a 4.65 forty and has a long wingspan. If he can stay on the ground at top speed maybe he will be a good TE cover guy. johnny eagle
The proof is in the pudding. Andrew Grier
Hmmm...methinks I perceive the fragrant bouquet of sarcasm in the air... tpizza
Atleast it's not some slow, undersized, balding white guy named Richard....... Mark1npt- Richard probably hits harder than any of our linebackers or defensive backs.

This is what we meant by saying we would be aggressive in free agency. More Surprises to come!
