The Eagles released wide receiver DeSean Jackson.

The 27-year-old, three-time Pro Bowler has been in trade discussions this offseason. An NJ.com report surfaced Friday about Jackson's gang connections. Chip Kelly offered only lukewarm support of Jackson when asked about him Wednesday, and would not commit to having him on the team next season.

"After careful consideration over this offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles have decided to part ways with DeSean Jackson," the team said a statement. "The team informed him of his release today."

More information to come.
