Eagles place Clay Harbor on injured reserve
Zach Berman, Inquirer Staff Writer
Tight end Clay Harbor was placed on injured reserve, ending the season of the No. 2 tight end who was supposed to play a bigger role in the Eagles' offense this season. Harbor suffered a back injury in last week's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The Eagles have not yet made a corresponding move.
Harbor finished with 25 catches for 144 yards and two touchdowns this season. The Eagles wanted to get him more involved in the offense during training camp and the preseason, but the Eagles utilized a fullback in the gameplan more than anticipated.
The Eagles will return Brent Celek to the lineup this week against the Washington Redskins, and they have Emil Igwenagu on the roster, too. Igweangu might also need to help at fullback if Stanley Havili is out.
Agree with Operagost: Bring back Jeff Thomason. All he does is score touchdowns! Eagle_1960
harbor was horrible...he will never play for the eagles again and maybe not even in the nfl again...if he does you will never hear of him again and he will only last one or so more seasons. psualum
Just cut this waste, he couldn't block an artery. Gray Areas
One thing this season proves is that the Eagles need to reevaluate their training staff and methods.
