Eagles open preseason vs. New England

POSTED: Thursday, April 4, 2013, 4:26 PM

Chip Kelly's first game on the Eagles sideline will come against Patriots coach Bill Belichick, a friend of Kelly's. The Eagles and Patriots will open the preseason against each other at Lincoln Financial Field between Aug. 8-11.

The Eagles' second preseason game will be against the Carolina Panthers between August 15-19. That is the final home game of the preseason.

They visit the Jacksonville Jaguars between Aug. 22-25. That is a meeting against Jaguars coach Gus Bradley, a finalist for the Eagles job.

The preseason finale is a visit to the MetLife Stadium to play the New York Jets on either August 29 or August 30. The Jets' offensive coordinator is Marty Mornhinweg, a long-time Eagles assistant.

The official dates will be announced at a later date.
