The Eagles made a couple of personnel moves today, promoting Anthony Patch to Director of College Scouting and hiring Rick Mueller as Player Personnel Executive.

Patch, 33, has been with the Eagles with for 10 years. He first joined the team in 2002 as a college scouting coordinator, became a scout and then was named assistant director of college scouting in 2010.

Mueller, 44, previously worked in New Orleans (2000-08) and Jacksonville (1994-2000). He was the Saints' vice president of player personnel from 2006-08 and director of player personnel from 2000-2006. He worked as the Jaguars director of college scouting (1998-2000) after a five-year stint as a college scout (1994-98).

"We are very pleased to promote Anthony and add Rick to our scouting staff," Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman said . "Anthony has been one of our top talent evaluators during his tenure as a college scout, has great relationships throughout football and is an extremely hard worker. Rick brings a wealth of NFL experience while giving us a new and fresh set of eyes to evaluate incoming talent. They will both play a role in helping us prepare for this offseason of free agency and the draft.”

The moves aren't meant to fill the Director of Player Personnel job that was left vacant after Ryan Grigson was hired as Colts general manager. Roseman said earlier this week that the Eagles will eventually replace Grigson, but that move may not come until after the draft.

Mueller is a good, experienced choice, and Patch certainly knows how the Eagles operate. Whether or not that's a good thing remains to be seen. I think the main concern is going to come out in the next few weeks, if we get any kind of information about who Reid and his cronies are looking at. I really don't expect any major news out of the Senior Bowl, other than they saw a bunch of prospects.

Mueller definitely gets a lot of respect around the league. Now they just need a DC that has respect around the league.

very exciting. now we just have to wait for the eagles to draft 27 year old QB Brandon Weeden to go with our 28 year old o-lineman from last years draft.

At least they did't go COMPLETELY in-house this time. FRESH EYES, that's the key.

i would love to monitor a conversation between some of these so called eagle fans and someone else trashing your beloved team ..what would you say in your teams defense or would you just swallow all the negatives thrown at you because thats what most of these idiots come on the site to do everyday why not roll with the perfect team whoever that is and put yourself's out of your misery ...hate the eagles and the front office so much get a new team smh or try to be objective and realistic with your criticism of personnel and front office ...but remember if you are a loser the team winning wont ever change that even if they win the big one !!
