Eagles hit new low

POSTED: Sunday, November 27, 2011, 7:30 PM

Did Sunday’s loss seal Andy Reid’s fate?
Yes. There will be a new Eagles coach in 2012.
No. He can return if the team finishes strong.

The Eagles didn’t have turnovers to blame, although they did have one.

They didn’t have penalties as an excuse, although the Eagles did finish with nine, a number of which were untimely.

There was no fourth quarter lead for the Eagles defense to choke up this time around. The only choking going on at Lincoln Financial Field that late was the stadium walkways overcrowded with fleeing Eagles fans that had to sit through another home defeat.

The Eagles could blame a number of unfortunate injuries to key players. But that would be overlooking the fact that they were healthy for the first half of the season, and that their opponent was decimated on defense.

No, blame for Sunday’s ghastly 38-20 loss to the New England Patriots falls on the shoulders of the Eagles’ coaches, players and front office. It was a team loss, as they say. And this team, despite the promise, the hype and the individual talent, is as dead as Thanksgiving turkey.

I know we need a new HC but I'm not sold on Gruden. What has he done other than win a SB with someone else's team?

The sad part is that Kotite and his "chart" issues seem more plausible

Brian Dawkins had a phenomenal game today for Denver in the OT win over San Diego.

The eagles had a horrid game against the giants. Th giants were just worse. This team is going nowhere and we all have known it since week 3.

jeffrie is up for a humantarian ward for a sports team. maybe the focus should be on creating a animalistic football team - he certainly paid for it

Since Jeffrey grew up a NE fan, the Eagles are just a money printing machine for him. He longs to own the Patriots.

We're 99.9% out of the playoff picture. The good news is at least we won't have heart attacks down the stretch in those "must win" games for a playoff spot. FIRE ANDY REID NOW!!!!!! Or maybe we should just keep Reid for the rest of the season to ensure we get a decent draft pick because I doubt we'll win another game under this has been.

Why is anyone surprised?? The Eagles - since day 1 - have NO linebackers capable of knocking a running back down, NO defensive scheme that the players can execute, and NO leadership. Did anyone other than some diehard grade school fan seriously believe that the Eagles could match up against the Pats?? Give me a break!! Gee, maybe a huge offensive tackle or bull of a linebacker will be available with the Eagles HIGH first round pick.
